I agree with the photo boxes if you are trying to organize your photos. Once you start getting organized than you may (or may not) find something else that works better for your storage/organizing needs!

Wish I could give you advice on organizing pictures - but mine are mainly digital. I have those seperated by child/year/sub category (eg. places - and then broken into zoo, park, etc) or family/year/sub category.

Before digital, I used CM's Power Sort Boxes. I love that you can just take one little section out at a time & work on those photos. And I use them for my negatives. But now I upload onto the computer & they stay there until I print or order a batch to scrap.
