Who's joining our class today?
We will be using watercolor paints to paint a nice springy scene! Don't worry - this is beginner friendly. It looks complicated, but it's really a lot of easy layers.

We'll be live at 2pm on our Facebook page! See you there!

I didn't join the junk journal class, but I watched it yesterday. I want to make a garden journal for my new house. (every time I move, I say I am going to do this, but then I don't). I want to include seed packets and flower labels as well as photos of what went where, and then notes about how things went, what was good, what was bad so I know what to do the next year. It's going to be for both flowers and veggies. I thought if I did something similar to your junk journal, then maybe it would be more fun and I would stick with it.

Can you recommend a book/journal to start with?

I would like pages thick enough to use some of the techniques you showed, especially stamping. (I don't do a lot of watercolor, so I don't need water color paper). I do not want to bind my own.  I have no idea how many pages I will need, but enough to last several years.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

A garden journal sounds so fun! Here are a few good options. I like journals with a spiral side or journals that the binding won't get ruined when adding in dimensional things. You can see all of them HERE. All of these papers should be fine with stamping.

Oh a garden journal sounds so great! You'll definitely have to share!

I would add these ones too, since they have more pages to them:

thank you both for the suggestions. I think I'm going to go with the Kraft one from Prima, I like that it has the spiral binding.

Thanks for all the advice so far, I have another question. I bought the Prima book, I'm going to use the white pages for flowers and the Kraft pages for veggies.
Here is my first page in the white section:

I'm not really sure how to use similar techniques on the Kraft pages. Obviously, I can put white or patterned paper on it and write on that. Any suggestions?

Beautiful page!  :greeninlove: I like all the green and swirly design! I think you'll be surprised how similarly you can treat the kraft paper. Here is an example that I just made to show how the ink will show up on it. I also think you'll be able to write on it with a black pen or marker and see it fine. If you are worried about seeing it, try using a bolder pen/ marker. If you want parts or all of the page white you could cover it with gesso first.

Here is an example of stamping on a kraft tag. I didn't stamp it very well, (I'm not a stamper, lol) but still think you can see it.
