Being with my kids and grandchildren. We started a tradition of watching a Christmas movie after dinner. The grandkids fall asleep and after the movie we have pie. I always forget to take pictures too lol.

My FAVORITE thing about Thanksgiving is...without a doubt...my Mom's stuffing.
There are so many things to love about Thanksgiving... each year I think I add to that list.
I have been hosting the family dinner at my house for at least 10 years or more...and I have never one time cooked stuffing. Not even once. EVERYONE always asks if my Mom is making it, and of course, the answer was always yes.
Last year, when she had her stroke, that changed. It hit me like a ton of bricks when I was preparing my dinner list and I realized that my Mom could not do her stuffing...and I didn't know how to do it for her. I never got her recipe. I never got her secrets. Nothing. I was heartbroken. It was the very first year that I can ever remember not having my Mom's stuffing at the Thanksgiving Family Feast.
This year, My Mom has made so many improvements since her stroke, and one of those is the memory of that recipe. She still can't cook it, but she has verbalized the recipe, the streps, the secret hints, etc. I am SOOOO thankful to be able to do this, and to have this to keep in our family for generations.

My favorite thing this year is having our son here with us for the whole month! We only see him once a year, and this time he is really here for a good long visit. We are so thankful for him!

The aroma of the turkey roasting. Brings back so many childhood memories of waking up to the smell. My mom was up early to get it ready and pop it in the oven.

We all look forward to our catered turkey dinner from our local Calhoun’s. They smoke the turkey breast and include all the fixin’s. Leftovers for days

I love the food - especially stuffing (done the 'old fashioned' way in the bird) but these days usually go to the dinner the park puts on. I used to do dinner every year but with traveling and being in the RV I don't do it as often. I do make a turkey breast and get some sides for it so that I have left-overs - the best thing about Thanksgiving dinner!
