JANUARY 2025 Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Challenge
Image
Growing up in the 80's and 90's - this was definitely one of my favorite shows and board games.  I wanted to appear on the tv game show so much!  I can say that I probably learned more about geography and world facts from this show than most of my time in school.  This show made me want to learn!  And I'm hoping this challenge will make you want to create!!

This is Carmen Sandiego - there's many concepts of her but the one we are going to focus on is Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?  She's a fictional villian that is the ringleader of the criminal organization V.I.L.E., crooks who go around stealing world treasures and artifacts like the Great Pyramid in Egypt or the Great Wall in China, the Washington Monument in D.C. or the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
Each month, I will pick a specific location that Carmen has been seen and you are to take inspiration from that location and make a project.  You could be inspired by maybe the colors that are reminiscent of that location or the flag of the country, something about the geography of the location - for example if she was seen in Paris - you could take inspiration from the long Seine River and have a long title for your page or maybe you're inspired by the Eiffel Tower and you have tall design elements for your project.  Maybe she was seen in Dallas and you could be inspired by the Dallas Cowboys  star emblem or rodeos?  There is bound to be a ton of things you could be inspired by for the locations.

It's a new year and Carmen is already off and running!  Just after the clock struck midnight, she was spotted in Salt Lake City, Utah!  Knowing the Winter Olympics have been held here before, she could be looking to hone her skiing or curling skills, maybe she's visiting the Great Salt Lake?  Could she be trying to steal the NBA team the Utah Jazz's mascot Jazz Bear?  There are so many things to take inspiration from - I look forward to seeing how you try to nab Carmen this month!  You may use the state of Utah as well....

Here's a short list of Salt Lake City inspirations... but feel free to use other things!
Utah Jazz NBA team- mascot is Jazz Bear, colors are purple, white, blue
(according to https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/402 ... basketball
The Great Salt Lake
There are several national parks within a few hours drive of Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City has hosted the Winter Olympics in 2002 and will host again in 2034.
Temple Square which is home to the Salt Lake Tabernacle - known for it's amazing choir and beautiful organ music.
The Sundance Film Festival is held in nearby Park City each year.
Jell-o - Utah consumes more jell-o than anywhere else in the US!
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is headquartered here.

The Rules:
For each new project, you will be entered to randomly win a $5 ACOT gift card.  In addition, some months there will be a bonus element or idea for an entry for a stash goodie bag.
There is no maximum number of entries - however each entry must use a different source of inspiration!
Challenge is open to layouts, cards, decor projects, etc.  - if you aren't sure, just ask!
You may combine with any monthly challenge that allows and also the bi-monthly challenge.
Please post your entries here in this post.
All submissions are due by January 31, 2025 @ 11:59pm EST
Any questions, feel free to ask!

I just got back tonight from Utah!  We weren’t near Salt Lake, would any where in Utah work?  (Zion National Park, for example).
