Hello, Cherries! Welcome to NOVEMBER!
THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO PLAYED ALONG WITH THE OCTOBER CHALLENGE!
CONGRATULATIONS TO LOREENC FOR BEING OUR LUCK WINNER FOR OCTOBER!
*I have inherited this challenge and I vowed to keep Susan's original rules and wishes in place. I did change the name just a bit.
Here is how this Challenge works:
Each day of the month has a "wacky holiday" attached to it. Most of the holidays are WACKY and wild...and some not as much...but ALL are actual holidays.YES, I DO MY RESEARCH. Each month I will post the prompts for that month. Your challenge is to pick a day/holiday that I have added to the calendar and base your layout or card around that theme. My hopes are that these actual holidays will inspire you to pull out old photos and scrap memories long forgotten, or create new ones and celebration!
There is also a theme for the month shown at the top and/or bottom of the calendar. If you choose the theme of the month, your name will be entered twice in the drawing for a winner.
THE RULES:
~Your layout must be NEW - can be paper or digital.
~Cards are allowed
~The holiday that you choose must be one that is featured on the calendar that I have provided.
~ Post your layout or card in the gallery and to this thread by The last day of the month at midnight, and please note which day you chose.
~You may post as many times as you want, but your name will only go in the drawing once
(unless you get at additional entry for using the monthly theme or OCCASIONAL twist.)
~If you use the theme of the month for the bonus entry, PLEASE put that into your post when you submit.
~To qualify for the bonus entry, I must be able to see the relevance of the layout to the theme.
~You may combine with one other monthly Challenge that allows it.
As I am offering a monetary reward to the winner, I want to make sure that all Cherries have the same opportunity to win, as many of you do not have as much time to scrap as others. (I am one of the ones without much scrappy time!)
This is the only way I know to make it fair for all participants. (Keeping Susan's original wishes/rules in place.)
One randomly chosen Cherry will be chosen for a $5 ACOT GC from me! If you have any questions, please let me know! Have fun! I can't wait to see which "WACKY" Holidays you all scrap about!
This Month, I have chosen November 20th- World Children's Day in conjunction with the secondary theme of the month, Worldwide Bereaved Siblings Month.
My layout features several photos of my kids when they were younger, and when all five of them were here to be able to moan and groan when I wanted a photo. They were all so very close and loved one another more than I can even describe. I am so thankful that, today, the 4 that are still alive are closer than I have ever ever seen or heard of siblings being, and I 100% believe that is due to the loss of their brother. Losing him hurt them all so deeply, and at the same time made them cherish one another so much more. Sibling rivalry is a thing, but not with my kids...and that is not even a joke. Sometimes I think they love each other more than they love me...and honestly, I don't think it bothers me. They will have each other long after I am gone, and for that, I am truly grateful.
HERE IS THE NOVEMBER CALENDAR. I WILL ALSO LIST THE DAYS BELOW FOR EASY VIEW IN CASE ANYONE HAS DIFFICULTY SEEING THE CALENDAR PAGE. FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS! HAVE FUN...I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU ALL CREATE!
***NOVEMBER TWIST ALERT!!!***
There are TWO themes for this month. If you do BOTH themes, you will get your name into the drawing FOUR times.
These can NOT be joined into one layout. They must be featured onto two separate layouts.

I hope Dec. 1 "Deck the Everything Day" counts for all types of holiday decorating?
Because I created this page for fun Halloween decos my neighbors have put up this past month. I think Halloween displays have become more creative than Christmas ones.
If this is Xmas holiday decos only, then please disregard/I'll remove it. I used sketch 400 for the page. Thanks!

I am SO sorry on the loss of your son and have tears in my eyes your layout is beautiful. I can't even imagine......
I did choose the Worldwide Siblings Bereavement topic also, here is a layout of my Grandmother and 2 of her sisters. Bottom left my Great Aunt Mary passed away in the early 2000's, my Grandmother passed in 2020 at the age of 100 and the oldest of all her (over 10) siblings, bottom right. And my Great Aunt Anna, standing in the photo is the only sibling left and will turn 90 soon. She misses her siblings terribly. This photo must be over 20 yrs old. Combined with the Cherry Lift challenge.
