For this second challenge, you can blame Anne-Marie (scrappinmom99)! lol She mentioned "serendipity squares" last week, and I think it's time to bring back that creative twist on a way to use up scraps, stickers, etc. If you aren't familiar with them (it seems like it was quite a long time ago that we were using these), I have posted a couple of tutorials. The whole point, I guess, is randomly adhering your scraps, etc. in a collage on a piece of cardstock, then cutting or punching out squares from the collage to use as embellishments on your page or card. Serendipity is a noun that refers to luck in finding valuable or pleasant things that are not looked for. It is often associated with discovering interesting or valuable things by chance. So, these squares should not be pre-planned, but spontaneous in nature. You can use an entire sheet of cardstock and cover it with coordinating scraps, and then use the squares to tie together several pages in an album, too. Many people like to mat their squares on a coordinating cardstock to make the designs go together.
Your challenge is to create at least 4 serendipity squares and then use them (at least 4) on a layout or card. They must be made by you using scraps, bits of ribbon, leftover alphas or stickers...you get the idea! Size can be 1 x 1 inch or larger...up to you!

LOL! This is your chance to do it better! Try to be more coordinated and thoughtful with the placement of your scraps and where you cut the squares.

That "might" be the theme of this summer...

I've already started this challenge. I'm using some Harry Potter collection scraps, washi, stickles, and sequins so far. Oh and the printed tissue paper from the Harry Potter store that was wrapped around our bottles of butterbeer Not sure how to adhere that yet...
Happy Scrapping!

OMG, this whole time I was reading SERENITY squares and had no idea what y’all were talking about. Serendipity makes so much more sense - so they’re like master boards?
Oh! This sounds like fun! And a great way to clear the little bits off my table!
Cheers, Lydia
