February 2017 Artsy Craftsy Challenge **WINNERS**
Congrats to the $5 GC winner #10 - YANKEEGIRL!
Since there were more than 20 entries the winner of the RAK is # 20 -LOVE2STAMP

Ahh Love. February is all about love.  One of the most romantic and stirring pieces of art to me is THE KISS by Gustav Klimt.
Image
OH that shimmering gold leaf. It is so passionate and unique. But when you really look, there are so many other details and colors. Purples, greens, reds. Textures and patterns galore.

The Challenge:
You must use at least one photo of a KISS.  Can be human kiss, pet kiss, Hershey kiss! Any kind of kisses. Also add ONE of the following options:
OPTION 1.  Add at least 5 different patterned papers in your design -
OPTION 2. Make a section of your design a mosaic paper piecing or grid work. ( Can be paper, stamping, photos...or surprise me! AS long as it is a mosaic or grid.)
Bonus entry if you do both options
Image

Pesky Rules:

Re: February 2107 Artsy Craftsy Challenge
Question... for option 2, does the grid work have to be done with the PP or can we do it with our photos?

Great question! I originally thought paper but photos would work as well! I'll add that to the rules. Thanks for thinking of it

I love the painting "The Kiss" - I've had it in my home hanging - not the real one, for that you'll have to go someplace other than MY home.  lol  Great challenge!  At first I was scared you were going to ask us to gold leaf something and I was "Uh oh."  I never do that well. . . .

Hahaha! My goal is to try and challenge your creative side, not make you faint Image  I tried gold leaf once and I was done with it then and there!

Re: February 2107 Artsy Craftsy Challenge
At first, I wasn't sure I could successfully complete either of these options, but in the end, I decided to go all in and do both! Thanks for truly challenging me to do something fresh and out of my box, to create a layout that I am now totally in love with! (Also submitted for the February Spelling Challenge.)

THIS is why I love hosting challenges. I want to encourage people to try new things as I have been encouraged.  Thanks you for taking a chance and pushing yourself. I think the layout is it;s own reward.  There is everything wonderful about this! Thank you for entering this challenge!

For the Artsy Craftsy Challenge I did both options for the bonus. The photo is my sister and I messing around under the mistletoe. I combined with the Layout Prompt Challenge.

What a kiss indeed! That is a good mix of patterns and I like how you put the arrows and such on top of them!

I've been busy looking through my pictures for "kisses"!  Here's the first--I used 6 different patterned papers and made a grid design.  I also combined with the Scraplift the GD challenge.

and here is the second.  I used 6 different papers, but no grid design on this one...  Combined with the Cherry Lift challenge.
(My third one is already planned!  a different kind of kiss next time.  Thanks for the great challenge--as you can see I'm loving it!)

Okay, here's my page:

Image

My photo obviously is the kiss!  And I did both options:
1. 5 patterned papers (base grid; XOXO, diagonal stripe, grid words/photos; and mini word strip)
2. Grid work: paper at top and bottom of photo is a grid of words and photos
