**********************************CONGRATS SCRAPPININAK!!!!!!!!!**************************
Wholly Moly! It is SEPTEMBER! I blinked and it was the -ber months. I LOVE this time of year, it is my favorite time of year! September means end of summer, (and heat in my neck of woods!), Labor Day, start of a new school year, FALL is on its way (my favorite season of all!) and time to breathe in our house before October, which is always jam packed.
So what does SEPTEMBER mean to you? I want to see a creation that either took/takes place in September or SYMBOLIZES September for you. Nothing coming to mind? That is ok use one of my ideas OR show me a creation about FALL or SCHOOL (my two favorite things!).
This time I did a little bit different, this is so far from fall/school layout but it does revolve around a 'new' tradition we are starting in late August/September, silly selfies with DD the night before school starts. This is a far cry from my usual colors/style but it fits her perfectly! I love this challenge so much I will probably be back shortly with a different layout!
- Rules:
- New creations only
- All types accepted as long as at least 50% paper
- Even though I am hosting it is this CANNOT be included in the Max it out Challenge
- MAY be combined with ONE other challenge that allows it
- Please post in gallery and here by 9/30/15 11:59 PM EST
- ETA: max of 3 entries please

Now this one is going to be tough for me. Normally in Sept. I am doing back to school shopping with DGD, starting to cut back my garden for the fall/winter months, getting my house in order with a good cleaning. This September, with my trips to CT to help out my mom with her upcoming knee surgery, I won't be doing the shopping this month. And living in a temporary apartment, waiting for our new home to be done, I don't have gardens and surely won't spend a lot of time cleaning this little place! Maybe I'll have to focus on what THIS Sept. means to me: driving back and forth to CT, and watching our new home being built---slowly, slowly! Fun challenge, Crystal!

September means my birthday and usually sunshine during the day and cooler nights where I live. This was my first trip to Leavenworth last year.

September is my most dreaded and hated month. Each year, I always say, just get through the month and you;ll be okay. Both my parents died in September. It's just really hard to get over that to see the other possibilities of the month. Oh, and September 11. So, I'm sorry to say, my entries for this will not be happy memories. I do think, however, that scrapping helps us heal and deal. I already did two of my possible three entries. My mom's page will be the hardest.
So here's my Sept 11th tribute. I wrote the poem years ago after thinking about all the children who had lost one or both parents that day. I also thought of the teachers (I am a former teacher) who had to bring comfort to scared, sad children, when they themselves didn't know what was happening.
A
Child Cries
A great loud noise, a lot of fear.
"What was that?" Was all they hear.
And a child cries.
"It's very sad," they gently said.
"People
died, we're filled with dread."
And a child cries.
"Mommy? Daddy? Are they here?"
"I'm so sorry. No, my dear."
And a child cries.
"Your mom and dad won't make it home.
You will grow up all alone."
And a child cries.
"Oh, no, no, no! It can't be true!
Please, please tell me what to do!"
And a child cries.
"Pray, oh, pray, my sweet little one.
Pray to God: Thy will be done."
And a child cries.
"My whole heart aches for you, my dear.
I cannot comfort or dry your tears."
So the child cries.
Thanks,
Christi S

Christi, that poem is so emotional and captures the feelings of that day. I am sorry this month is so hard for you! I understand though, to a point. I will never forget 9/11, as I hope no one does. But I will also remember the good that came in the aftermath. HUGE hugs honey! Thank you for doing the challenge anyways, I hope it brought you some healing as I agree, we should scrap ALL parts of life!

For several years September meant driving to and picking up from dance team - and the reward was the 1/2 time at the football games and competitions (also being with the girls). Since I live right by the high school I hear the band practice (and the drums) so I get reminded of all that hard work & fun times! Also fits the number challenge.

To me September means the beginning of the end of the competitive bike racing for my granddaughter, Emma. She has done a spectacular job this year.

My DGD's birthday is this month and so is my DH's. If I do a LO about one of them - does it have to be a birthday LO or just that I am thinking of them?
