Updated with Winner -- Joannie!

thanks to everyone who participated and gleaned inspiration from this challenge!

Hello ladies! It's time for another Christmas in.... challenge!

DISCLAIMER: At this time finances are a sore subject here, so I cannot guarantee a monetary prize at this time, or even a prize from my stash because of shipping costs. THEREFORE, (UNLESS/UNTIL OTHERWISE NOTED) this challenge will not currently be for a prize. HOWEVER, if things change by the end of the month (and let's face it, things can definitely change that quickly, as my life has been a great example of this over the past 2 months) and IF I am able to by the end of the month, I will add a prize at that time.

I just wanted to host a challenge again since I had a cute idea, and I know some ladies really want the challenge!

So, it's September. September brings with it the end of Summer, the beginning of Fall, and one of my favorite times of year. AND we see the leaves start to change color and Mother Nature really shows off her majesty with the wonderous colors of the Fall foliage. How trees can turn into bright fire balls and appear to be consumed in flames, is just something magical!

So, this month's challenge is about TREES.....

This challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to create a CHRISTMAS LAYOUT OR CARD
Option 1) Photos of Christmas trees - going to cut it down, decorating it, in front of it for a Christmas family photo. Show me those trees!
Option 2) Make a Christmas layout with tree embellishments - they can be stickers, wood veneer embellies, or fussy cut tress, but they must be embellishments, or fussy cut to be made into embellishments - simply having trees in a PP will not count.

TWIST: For ladies who want/need/like a sketch/layout to scraplift, here's a cute one!

Image

Use as a starting point for inspiration for your layout.

Can't wait to see what you ladies come up with! Stay posted and check for updates. I do hope to find a job soon and hope to be able to add a prize by the end of the month.

Fine Print:
Can be a layout, card or project.
Open to digi, hybrid, or paper
Must be uploaded here by September 30.
Can be combined with one other September challenge that allows it.

Here's one example:

a LO I did last month surprisingly has BOTH options on it - Pics in front of a tree at Disney, and tree embellishments (3D Jolee's stickers)

I also have another idea, I just gotta find the pics in storage and scrap them!

Love this idea!!!! And I love trees. Also, do not worry yourself over prize. When this first started, it was optional anyway, it was just a way to keep this "family" together and motivated!!! Thanks so much for offering us another fun challenge!

ditto on don't worry. We are so thrilled to have cherries like you to offer these challenges. They are inspiring and that is a reward in itself. Thanks!

OH, I can do this one, have several photos in mind already!

Carolyn, I applaud you for keeping this Christmas Challenge alive and kicking. With or with out prize. I wish I could participate but I have absolutely no Christmas Photos to scrap. We begin celebrating (even if only in little ways) the Day after Thanksgiving though. So I hope that you continue this challenge and come November, I will be in the swing of things!

:) Good luck on finding a job ASAP. I hope it happens before you know it!

Great challenge! And like Susan said, don't worry about a prize or what have you. That has always been the choice of a hostess. We are all doing this because we want to and if the monetary situation isn't gonna let the prize happen, who cares. What matters most is scrappers are getting those PICTURES SCRAPPED and thanks to you and all other hostesses, they are offering ideas/inspiration!

Please don't worry yourself about prizes. I love to do the challenges whether a prize is given or not. Just appreciate you doing a challenge.

A prize is NOT necessary! The challenge alone is enough, as it gives us inspiration to get our pages scrapped! So don't worry about that at all!

And great challenge by the way! I have been working on Maddie's first Christmas for her album so this will be great!!

I seem to always stop working on my yearly books when I reach Christmas pictures! Between putting up the tree, Christmas Eve, Christmas Morning and Christmas Day, there are just so many pictures! Which is why I have exactly the right pictures for this challenge. Love having a sketch and no need for a prize, just the enjoyment and motivation of the challenge! Thanks for doing it.

Love this sketch and don't mind another Christmas layout, still have photos from last year! Gift cards are not necessary. I'm just looking for inspiration to get more pages done. Thanks!

Here's my layout - Loved the challenge and the scraplift twist worked perfectly with my photos. I combined Options 1 and 2 and turned the sample into a 2-pager. The little tree die cuts in the title were included in the My Minds Eye package. TFL!

Definitely doing challenges for the challenge, not the prizes! Glad you kept the Christmas in... going, otherwise I probably wouldn't get any Christmas LO's done!

ditto on the mention of a prize! I just love a good challenge. If I really only did challenges because there was a chance at a prize, I wouldn't participate, lol. Cuz' I have bad luck on that usually! My name sticks to the bottom of the cup, lol!

I love this month's Christmas challenge--what a great way to think up a Christmas challenge at Fall time! Thanks for keeping it going! I'm getting more Christmas photos scrapped here and there instead of waiting until I come around to them chronologically, when I have so many that scrapping them gets monotonous.

Love this challenge. I know what you mean about finances, too. So, totally not necessary to have a prize to aim for. Just great for inspiration. Thanks.

thanks for the challenge. it is not really about the prizes-- they are nice--but it is about getting those memories scrapped!! Hope things DO turn around for you by the end of the month if not quicker!! :)

I cheated, and used the Tree on a card to combo with the Card challenge.
I made a matching envelope too tho!
