inspiration is about taking ideas, such as colors, patterns, title or
keywords, theme, font styles, and element placement, and using them to
create your own layout. You can break the ad inspiration down to a
basic sketch, copy a prominent design straight from the ad, or you can
alter a design to fit your own layout. Most ads are 8.5x11" but you can adapt
the ad to fit any size. Remember, this is not a sketch and you are not
required to follow every detail. The key is to really LOOK at the ad
and find the pieces that INSPIRE you!

BRUSHES CHALLENGE by Keling (Sara)
For July, I challenge you to play with recolouring brushes! If you're new to recolouring, try just one [color]; if you're more experienced, try using multiple colours or gradients.
In my layout, I used a corner brush from Kami Pfingsten's "Spring's Sweetness" brush set, and used three colours to coordinate with the page. Then, I also recoloured the title box from Julie Mead's "Spring Title Boxes." Also features papers and elements from Julie Mead's "Manilla Picks" mini kit, and her "Their Little Royalness" element kit.

Most people think of red, white, and blue when they think of July, but
I am a fan of mixed and altered colors. Must be my art background!
Anyway, this July's color challenge is to use the shades maroon, navy,
and cream as your palette, instead of the primary colors. The photos
do not have to be 4th of July photos, but this would be an awesome way
to get those photos scrapped!

I've recently fallen in love with this song, "Our Great God" as
performed by Todd Agnew and Rebecca St. James. The words and the music
are just so pretty and really puts you into a spirit of worship.
This month, I'd like you to create a page either featuring the lyrics or inspired by the song. The lyrics are as follows:

INSPIRED BY ART CHALLENGE by Art_Teacher (Laura)
Famous artworks have served as inspiration for artists throughout the
years. Whether it is the color scheme, the textures, the shapes and
lines, the subject, or the layout, looking at art can give us ideas to
use in scrapping. This month's challenge is to be inspired by one of
the two artworks I have posted here and create a layout or other item with
that inspiration. Be creative!
The first art piece is a print of Grevy's Zebra by Andy Warhol. I used the colors and spirit of this artwork to create my "Born to be Wild" layout of Paisley!
The second artwork is the Autumn Landscape window by Louis Comfort Tiffany.

brainy ones...there's a quote out there for just about every occasion.
I personally get a Quote of the Day e-mail and I save a lot of the
really good ones. This month I challenge you to use a quote on your LO.
I used mine as both my journaling and my title, but I'll let you have a
bit more flexibility. Your quote should be prominant on your layout,
though. If you're not sure where to get a good quote, here are some

1) Must include journaling and the journaling to be written as if writing a short heartfelt letter to someone special.
2)
Must include at least one picture and it can not be of you or the
person to whom you are "writing." (my layout example is written to my DH
and the photo I used I found online and it reminds me of a moment in
time we shared which is also about what I journaled.)
3) Added bonus if you so choose to do it...use the blending and/or drop shadow techniques like I did.

This month I want you to create a hybrid layout! By hybrid I mean that
you must include some sort of digital element into your paper
scrapping. You can add text on a photo, print templates for a chipboard
album, add digital frames to your photos, use selective coloring in
photos, etc. My goal is for you to learn something new and expand on
what you already know!
1. Briefly describe what makes your layout
hybrid, so that we can all gain some ideas!
2. Don't forget to list the digital elements to give credit to the designers.
3. Check out the digi shoppe for freebies if you're not sure how to get started.
In my example, "Joining the Paparazzi," I used PhotoShop Elements to include text on my photo before printing it.
