I love what you did with the sketch, that's what I LOVE!! And those photos are great!!! Thanks for playing!!beachlover wrote:loved this sketch and thanks for the e"anything goes" - I used the opportunity to start on Lily's baby pictures - she sure isn't so tiny anymore!
I love this!!! I must have missed some of these layouts when I was at work ooing an awing!! I love the detail you put into it!! Great job!!
Wow NANCY!! This is amazing! I don't know how you do these amazing digital pages!! I suck at them!! I love the colors, I'd have never put them together, and they work wonderfully together!!Ayla wrote:Here's mine...I will admit, I tend to view sketches as a starting point. I didn't have 2 photos I wanted to use, so adapted to only 1. And added a few elements...thanks for the push to scrap my little babies...I love how this one turned out!
And using it as a starting point is exactly what you are to do - you don't ever have to copy it - well - exactly!! LOL I love the layout - the goat pictures made me chuckle - I think I have photos of my now 56 year old brother feeding a goat maybe 50 years ago - and that was the last time he touched a "wild" animal. LOL Thanks for playing!!scrapsteph wrote:Used the sketch as a starting point took things out so I could add another photo...
Again, another apology - I have no idea where my head was at work - I missed this layout, too - and I LOVE circuses and so I'm sure I would have instantly remarked on it - we just talked about going in May if I dare brave the Hershey tourist traffic to get to it!! LOVE your colors, and the layout layering is stunning. Sorry, Carolyn!! I LOVE IT!cajenkins81 wrote:this was the first layout I did this month! I knew exactly which pictures I wanted for the "anything goes animals" sketch challenge. Pictures of Olivia riding an elephant at the circus a couple weeks ago. She had a blast! THanks for a great sketch and for continuing to host this challenge. This board wouldn't be the same without you!
Adorable! and such a perfect titleAylaHere's mine...I will admit, I tend to view sketches as a starting point. I didn't have 2 photos I wanted to use, so adapted to only 1. And added a few elements...thanks for the push to scrap my little babies...I love how this one turned out!

The absolute first thing I noticed was the jungle feel of the colors you used. I know you follow "Design Seeds" too, and I love the names they give their palettes. This could be Giraffe jungle!! Beautiful details, as usual, that's what I love about your work, you can "design" and add to the layout without overwhelming the layout. You edit well!Deanna13 wrote:Here's my version of your sketch along with photos of DH with grandson Brady and the lovely giraffes at the Brevard Zoo, July 2013. Giraffes are my FAV!
Love Giraffes
This is gorgeous!! And how funny - your title is perfect - they do think of it as just that!! I love how you added ink to get more definition. Thanks for doing my challenge!!anazelia wrote:here is mine, thanks for the wonderful sketch
I saw that episode!! And you executed this perfectly!! I love the yellow overload, my second favorite color - only second to orange!! Great job with the challenge and thanks for playing!!MacSarah wrote:So... someone posted a link to "Scrapbook Soup" episodes a couple weeks ago and I watched several. One was about taking a sketch and changing to proportions to make an embellishmnet cluster. I had 2 small photos of my Dandy girl that lended themselves to changing the scale of the sketch.
So here is what I cam e up with:
I have trouble with clusters. I think they either look too crowded and not cohesive, or too sparce and don't make sense. That episode gave me a great tip for them. It just happened that this sketch was easy to translate in a smaller scale. I am going to keep trying with the clusters, I think if I use sketches for a bit, making them smaller, I will eventually hit my "A-Ha" moment.sherelm wrote:I saw that episode!!
