Can you believe it's March already??? I cannot wait for Spring. How about you? Well, while you are waiting...why don't you take on some of our challenges? Remember, random point winners are drawn at the beginning of the following month....and one layout only gets you one entry into that drawing (no matter how many "challenges" you can complete with that one layout).**********
AD INSPIRATION CHALLENGE by MamaK321 (Kristianne)
Inspiration: the act of influencing or suggesting opinions : to draw forth or bring out : an inspiring agent or influence
Ad inspiration is like a step up from sketches. There is a basic sketch that you can pull out and use on your own layout but there are also a few other pieces to take inspiration from such as colors, patterns, title or keywords, theme, font styles, and element placement. You can copy a design straight from the ad or you can alter a design to fit your own layout. Most ads are 8.5x11" but you can adapt the design to fit any size. Remember, this is not a sketch and you are not required to follow every detail. The key is to really LOOK at the ad and find the pieces that INSPIRE you!

ALPHA ART CHALLENGE by MamaK321 (Kristianne)
This is a fun little stretch from the norm for many of us who usually use a single font or alphabet set on a layout. Well this month I would like you to dig through your alpha stash and pull out at least three of your favorite styles and use them to create a prominent title on a layout. And if you're interested in a little extra credit, try replacing a letter of your title with an actual embellishment, like I did with the key and ribbon in my example layout.

COLOR CHALLENGE by Beth-W (Beth)
For this month's color challenge, complete a layout in a complementary color scheme. Complementary colors are colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel. They are very important to color theory because when placed beside each other (for instance on a layout) they make each other appear brighter. The complementary colors of the primary colors are Red and Green, Blue and Orange, and Yellow and Purple. Here is a scan of my color wheel for reference (it is also in my gallery):
Here is my challenge layout example:

IT’S ALL ABOUT LIFE CHALLENGE by nun69 (Angie)
I took the definition of “LIFE” from dictionary.com and decided to scrap what that means to me today {not yesterday, not tomorrow, but right here and now}... I want to see the definition of “LIFE” in your layout and then see what that means to you. Try to focus on your journaling. Let's see what you have.

JOURNALING CHALLENGE by Mommybruno (Cassandra)
Scrap A List: It’s not hard for me to journal and I do it…a lot! But sometimes I just don’t have that much to say, or I don’t have a particularly funny story to tell. When that happens, I turn to the good old list journaling style. This is good for random thoughts, listing goals or directions, or using word art to tell your story. This month, I challenge you to put your journaling in the form of a list!

MANUFACTURER CHALLENGE by 4peasinourpod (Pam)
There are few companies that get the same reaction as Basic Grey! Their lines are daring, colorful, and unique. One of the great things about Basic Grey, too, is that their releases are available soon after trade shows, meaning the new lines should be here SOON! For this challenge, you may use ANY line of Basic Grey to create a layout that is 8x8 or larger, or an altered project. My example is my sassy daughter Delaney on which I used the Two Scoops line. Please check out the Shoppe for a large variety of collections, which include paper, chipboard, stickers, brads and buttons!

NEW DIGITAL DESIGNER CHALLENGE by Keling (Sara)
We've got some awesome new designers in the shop. I'd love to see you welcome our new designers by creating a layout featuring their designs!
I created this page of my grandmother using the paper from Shelle Pukas' "Flight of Whimsy," which I re-coloured, and her "Finishing Touches" elements pack.

NEW LIFE CHALLENGE by HapEScrapr (Stephanie, Guest Digital CT Member)
In light of the spring season and the new life that it represents, I want to do a "new life" challenge. Here's the twist: do it from a unique perspective. Example: scrap your pregnant belly or scrap the world from a baby's point of view reflecting how big everything looks. Here's your chance to take some unique photos and see the world in a different way. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

My challenge to you is to scrap an animal. Easy right.....uhhhh not so fast, it cannot be a pet, it has to be some other type of animal. Wildlife, the zoo, you get the picture. Good luck and have fun!!

SKETCH CHALLENGE by LoveMyBella (Miranda)
This months sketch:Though the sketch is orginally planned as an 8.5 x 11, manipulating a skecth to suit your needs is fairly easy! I used two 4x6 photos, instead of one large picture and adjusted the placement as needed. When using a sketch, you don't have to follow it exactly, just use it as a guide, or a small bit of inspiration to get scrapping again! Enjoy!

TRENDS & TECHNIQUES CHALLENGE by katarria (Kathy)
After a recent poll during the crop, I learned that chipboard and layering are two of your favorite techniques these days. This month’s challenge is to use layering on one of your layouts to give your pages lots of color and dimension. You may layer papers, embellishments, or a combination of both papers and embellishments but must have at least 4 layers going on! The only thing that doesn’t count as a layer is your photos! Enjoy!
On my sample layout I layered black cardstock, patterned paper, paper frills, a transparency, chipboard, three flowers, and a rhinestone flower (top right corner).
