Another Dugger enters the world

I put this in the Debate section since it stirs up lots of debate.

Kid #18 entered the world by C-section.    The proud dad said they can't wait for more

WTH??? His wife just had her THIRD c-section and he's anxious for another kid?

I know there are so many arguments that say they all look happy, healthy, etc - but remember, you're watching a TV show that can be edited.

If they want "blessings" why not adopt some who desparately need a home with all that love to share?

Also, once she gets pregnant again one of the other kids gets saddled with the baby.

If it's a matter of teaching their children responsibility, you can do that without making them responsible for a child they had no say in having.

My humble opinion is that there are already too many people populating this earth.....WHY keep bringing so many more into it?

I realize there will be many of you that think I'm nuts for saying that, but it's how I feel.

I also have to wonder if they are doing it for the publicity. You KNOW every diaper, baby food, toy company out there is sending them "years supplies" of stuff.

First question that comes to mind is how the hell can they afford so many children? I'm sure now with having a TV show they can but what about before that? And I sure hope they didn't decide to put their lives on TV just to help pay for so many children.

Next thing I question is how can they possibly nurture each child the way it deserves with there being so many. I really doubt they can. I haven't seen the show...have no desire to really but if they are really making the other kids take care of each other that is really wrong. Then the parents are just robbing their children of the childhood they deserve.

All the kids do the chores.    IF you get enough kids doing them you don't need to hire out

A doctor can tell this people how dangerous this could be to have more children, or the man. Is easy for him because he doesn't have to be pregnant. This woman doesn't know how to live without a baby inside. She has been pregnant all her life.
Who pays for their stuff? Can't imagine that they only live from his job.

They get paid for the shows on tv.

Living in AR and being in politics, I've met this family a number of times and I do not like them or the older boys (young men) at all. The girls are very quiet so I haven't really talked with them.

However, from a medical viewpoint, what doctor would allow a repeat C-section for the fourth time at her age after that many children? What keeps her uterus in place in the first place!?!  There has to be something mentally unstable for a woman to want to be pregant all of the time and not enjoy the time she has with the ones she has already given birth to.

As for Duggar, he's just an asshole from start to finish on all levels - religious, political, parentally, etc. If I never had to be at a function with him again it would make me a very happy person.

Oh, and he doesn't have a job. There are a group of Republican politicians around here that do "investments" and they live off of that and "God's provisions." I believe God will provide just not necessarily in the way these politicians get their money, ykwim? When they ran out of money after his last failed political campaign they shopped around for the television show and now they have income from that. :waiting: Shame on people who watch and support their absurd lifestyle.

They keep at it and one time she will have complications, maybe even die.  But that won't stop him.  He'll just say it was God's will and marry a young gal and start all over again!!!

If the state can't find a reason that these people should not have these children, then who the hell are we to ASSUME that it's not a good condition just because it wouldn't work for YOU?

The state can't tell people not to have children. Sometimes I wish they could, but they can't. I bet the state also gets saddled with giving these people plenty of money. Unfortunately that is often how 'God provides'.

ugh! I have no doubt that they are going to keep on having babies though until one kills her or she hits menopause. And yep, I bet they get lots of baby stuff free. Those poor kids. I just feel like they are getting the short end of the stick - the older ones because they have to take care of the little ones and the little ones because they are in essence deprived of a real mom. The 'mothering' is done by whichever sibling is assigned. Of course, there are lots of kids in this world who are worse off, but that doesnt make it right.

You guys make me laugh. Its so absurd to discuss this! IT IS THEIR LIFE and I think having as many children as you end up with has NOTHING to do with anything but GOD! GET REAL and discuss isssues that matter. None of this has anything to do with any of you!

of course it doesnt have anything to do with us. that doesnt mean we can't have opinions.

they just identified the remains of Caylee Anthony. that has nothing to do with me either but I am still mourning for her and her family and I still have an opinion about it.

When you make the decision to have 18 kids and basically sell access to your life via a television show, you are just ASKING for people to have opinions.

They might have started with the right intentions of just wanting a large family but now it just seems like they have got sucked in with all the publicity they have been getting. I've never watched the show (don't even know what channel airs it or when it is on) but it's not a show I'd want to spend my time watching. At one time I was impressed with the mom's patience. Not so much any more.

This is the debate forum.

Lots of things may not matter to someone or another - but if they are bothered by a subject they just don't get involved by joining the discussion.

Lots of things may not have anything to do with any of us - but we are entitled to discuss them.

In this case, the people involved choose to expose their lives on national tv.   That opens them to a lot of discussions.   They've been on tv news shows as well.  They are publicizing their lifestyle.   And to some extent, exploiting their children.

There is no way she should have another child.  If they want more, please adopt so many children that have no homes and need love.

You've got to be kidding. Having kids has nothing to do with anything but God? So does that also mean that when some people try so hard & can't have kids, it's solely God's doing too? :grayconfused: And message boards are discussion boards.
