Just out of curiosity, where do you stand on abortion?

People have voted, but not posts..
Also, what do you base your stance on abortion on? I base mine on the Bible.

Every woman has a right to her own body and it is HER choise, whether to abort or keep. That is my opinion and NOTHING can ever make me change that. BTW, in Denmark we have free abortion untill 12 weeks and after that you need the etics-commites yes to abort.

I voted and but didn't post as I do not like to get into debates... I am totally pro-choice and do not feel the government should be involved. They have bigger issues to deal with, imo.

My husband believes, "Plant a seed, you grow it." Although our last baby was not planned... I had considered abortion. i cried and cried and cried, until the day we decided to keep it. then I was all smiles. I knew then what was the right choice, although now I am going out of my mind with 4 kids and all the work that comes along with that.
I believe it's the woman's choice. It' HER life, HER body, HER choice. Do we really want a woman giving birth to a baby that she doesn't want/can't afford/doesn't know how to handle? There are plenty of woman like that out there already and children growing up in horrible environments. I have a nephew in a bad place already and I feel bad for him.
That's just my opinion anyways.

I feel the same!

I think it is the woman's choice. I personally couldn't do it simply because the baby wasn't planned or something like that. Now in the matter of rape or incest I'm not sure I could go through with it however it would be thought about. Its a womans body and if that woman can live with that for the rest of her life, she should have that choice.

I didn't want to debate on the forums especially on this topic.
I used to be an avid supported of abortion rights - until I held my still born child in my hand - one hand. She was only 6 months old and now that would be a viable baby. She would also be eligible to be aborted. She wasn't a fetus. She had a heartbeat, 10 fingers, 10 toes, fingerprints and an identity and personality. To kill a child at that stage is murder.
However, because I am pro-life, I am anti-killing in all things. I no longer believe in the death sentence. I do not believe in un-provoked, unsubstantiated war. Killing, taking a life of another human being is wrong. Period. I don't believe you can have it both ways.

I believe it's a woman's choice. Yes, there are women out there that abuse the priveledge (can't spell today!), but once you bring in the government you lose your choice altogether and I think that's wrong.

I am pro-life. It really bothers me to think of innocent babies being killed. But... I am not about to push my views onto someone else and it really bothers me when pro life & pro choice people are in your face about it. (I am not talking about anyone on this board) All I am saying is I personally could NEVER have an abortion and I think it should be illegal except in cases of rape, incest and when the mother's life is in danger. Too many use it as birth control and thats wrong. IMO. You will never hear me bash a person though for having one. Its a very personal choice.

I firmly believe that every woman should have the right to decide for herself.

It's strange that in the "Who Would You Vote For?" Thread it was mentioned that theoretically most scrappers are conservative, but in this thread it doesn't hold true. Interesting.

I was one that put "other" I do agree that it is the womans choice but NOT as a form of birth control. When you are having 2, 3 even 4 that is just wrong. Yes people make mistakes but learn from them.

I believe that life begins at conception, thus all abortion = murder and is wrong. If life can ever be defined to start at a different point- sometime between conception and birth (because even most pro-choice people believe many preborn babies are viable) - I will whole-heartedly reconsider. But I defend the preborn females (and males) who do not have a "choice" whether their life is "worth" living or not.

I think that if your that irresponsible *ok in the exception of younger kids having sex *which freaks me out* if you know better and know to use a condom/birth control. How can you just kill a baby..oh just I didn't want it.. I don't know how people can do that *not blaming or getting angry at anyone's opinions* Just my thoughts about it. I feel like if you were irresponsible and having unprotected sex and knew that.. You should keep your child or give it up for adoption to a family who truely wants a child. I agree if the baby isn't going to live and incest rape complications. I can understand that.. It's a woman choice no matter what.. Just how I feel about it though.

Even though abortion is a lousy way to practice birth control, I am with the majority on this issue.

Wow...just wow! I am actually surprised about the number of okays on abortions. Yikes. I am pro life. Now...incest , rape, and such are very special circumstances to which I can not understand...thus will not say either way. However, as an adult woman...each time I have sex, I realize the possibilites. If I want no children... I keep my legs closed. Should something happen although I was using protection....why is abortion the only choice??? As a woman who went thru hell on earth to just have one...I would have loved to have been able to adopt....what a gift..not only to the unborn child...but to the parents who long so desperately for a child. I know of too many women who have used abortion as on "oh man...I made a mistake." I also think it leaves lasting heart ache for most women who choose abortion...something they can never take back but have to deal with on a daily basis. Thru invitro, I saw my dd grow from an egg sack, to the time we first saw her heart beat (with in weeks!!), to when she grew her fingers and toes. To destroy that is beyond my thoughts.... I do not judge any woman for doing so...I think they have enough laid on their hearts afterwards....I just think there are other options.

I am mostly pro-choice. I feel it is a woman's choice but I feel that it should be regulated so that the option can not be abused. I went to school with so many girls who used it like it was a form of birth control. It was insane. I also am against late-term abortion. I agree with the law in Denmark where you have a choice til 12 weeks and then have to have it go case by case. JMO.

I am against abortion. My faith has taught me that it is murder and I believe that too.
In all honesty, I couldn't be a good friend to anyone that had an abortion. It interferes too much with my personal beliefs and I wouldn't ever be able to get over it.
