I think it was an inappropriate field trip and no way would I let my children attend a wedding for a field trip!  Whether it was a same-sex marriage or not I just think it's crossing a line.  The school I am sure could have found a better educational field trip for the students, especially for this age group where they don't really fully understand the issues involved.

 I don't care who marries who, or who loves who, but that's no field trip! 

EDIT:  I just don't understand why some people feel who they love has to be pushed in other people's faces.  If they feel the need to make a public issue of their private life, there's something askew.  Like a person who shows off because they're insecure...

Doesn't mattter what kind of wedding it was....I don't think it's an appropriate field trip for elementary school age children.

Both as the mother of a first grader and a teacher...that is just not right! I don't care who people choose to sleep next to, but I think it's highly inappropriate to bring the students to this on school time and at taxpayer's expense. If the teacher really wanted her students there, she should have got married on a Saturday and sent them all an invitation. IMHO, of course.

 Poor kids!  I mean if I were 5 or 6 I would be completely bored at a wedding.  I would want to go to a petting zoo instead!!
