We just found out that our neighbor (we have lived in the same house for 14 years) has only about 3 weeks left to live. He was diagnosed with liver cancer 2 years ago, and was taking an experimental drug. He was doing great, but just recently went into liver failure. They just got back from a 2 week vacation to Hawaii, his favorite place in the world. Delaney is already fretting about it...he has grown children (in their 20s) and she is worried his wife will be lonely. This is going to be my kids first real experience with death.

That is so sad. I'm so sorry you're going through this. I know how emotional Erynn has been with my Grandma being in the hospital, so I know it is hard to try and explain this all on their level and comfort them.

I remember when I first learned about death, when my "daddy" died and I was only 7 years old. My mom remarried when I was 3 and he adopted me.It's always scarey when you're little to think that you will die someday, and your loved ones and friends will, too.Sending you all lots of good thoughts and I know that you will do a good job of teaching them, Pam.((((((HUGS))))))
