Hello sweet cherries.
Its been a challenging week and im finally on my feet again. I know ive been quiet lately. Just trying to process things regarding my health.
The week before Thanksgiving I went to the hospital with weird numbness on my left side. When I got there it was kinda a blur. They admitted me instantly. As they were asking questions. I had a mini stroke Tia. I got there just in time for them to catch it. Im thankful for their quick response. It was pretty scary after I was alert enough to realized what was going on.
I have been taking it easy and feel well rested. Allot better now that I'm on medication of blood thinners and cholesterol medication. Its hereditary on both sides of my family. Plus menopause caused havoc on my cholesterol and hormone levels! I have always been very active and maintained a healthy lifestyle. So I wouldn't have these issues in my elder years. But apparently some hereditary health issues and menopause happen regardless of prevention
The gift of family genes. Im thankful that it's fairly easy and manageable. Medication and a little tweaking of my diet. Thankfully I am already on a pretty strict diet due to my other stomach issues. Only thing I have to give up is carbs. Carbs is my weakness lol but it's an easy thing to give up.
I hope everyone had a beautiful Thanksgiving with your loved ones. I did manage to get out to Austin and hangout with our friends. Very relaxed and refreshed.

Oh my goodness Flora. You need your own chapter in a Medical Journal. Immediate attention with a stroke is imperative. Please take it easy and give yourself time to heal.

Awww Sweet Flora, you were on my mind and I'm glad you checked in! HUGS to you!!! I'll continue to pray for you and your health ailments.
How scary to go through everything! TIAs are pretty scary on their own and I'm grateful you were already at the hospital when it happened!
Please keep taking care of yourself! Hormonal and menopause things are awful to deal with in their own way; everything else is crazy too!
MANY MANY prayers for you, DC!

As a nurse we always would quip that the last thing you want to hear a doctor say is "you are an interesting case!"
Give yourself plenty of time to rest and heal! We will be here.

Omgoodness Flora I was thinking of you. I had not been on the boards for a while a few weeks back so didn't know how you were doing. I am so sorry you had yet another medical issue, but so glad you were in the right place at the time. Prayers for you to have all those medical issues behind you now and for you to remain well.

Hang in there, Flora. You're a strong woman. You've got this.
I had a TIA in 2012 at age 44 -- scariest thing I've ever been through. Even now, all these years later I'm still rattled by it. What you've been through is scary and stressful, for sure.
((Hugs))
