Hi Cherries!!!
For some it is a long weekend, and it is a holiday weekend too!
I was able to take a vacation day yesterday ( haven't had a day since christmas break) and added to today so i have several days off.
Yesterday I went to see my dd (I haven't seen her since christmas) between her work/school schedule and mine we haven't been able to see each other.
It was a good day. We did a little hike up Monk's Mound at Cahokia mounds (she doesn't remember when I took the kids there when they were little) and then
we stopped at some shops nearby, it is only about 30 mins from her house. We had a nice lunch and although it was chilly and VERY windy we had a great time together.
I got to see my grand pups!!
they are the cutest! It was a great visit. I got home about 8 last night. She goes to school m-th now and works F/sa/Sun. Until she gets these 3 classes done that were not a requirement for her BSN, but are required for her CRNA program. So I won't see her on Easter but so happy to see her yesterday.
My grand kids are in Louisiana so I won't see them for easter.
I am hoping to do some gardening and seed planting this weekend along with all the regular stuff that must be done!
What are your plans?

We'll either have Easter dinner with my parents or here at home with just the 4 of us. My dad's not been feeling well the last few days, so we'll just have to see how he feels on Sunday.
No planting planned here -- we will be in the 40's through Tuesday!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time!
I am off for Good Friday (which our calendar lists as Parent/Teacher Conference makeup day) smh Basically, we get a day off after a week where we have to stay after school until 7:00 on 2 separate days, so they won't have to pay us for the overtime. lol Anyway, it's dumb that they put it on Good Friday, as if having a 3-day weekend on Easter is somehow wrong. Our conferences were back in February and I really could've used a day off then! What a long week that was...lol But, I am using this day to clean up my house and get ready to host my Mom's side of the family tomorrow.
Hopefully, all these rainy days are done for awhile, and we can have the kids' egg hunt outside. Going to be in the high 40's/low 50's, but if it is sunny, then that works!
Sunday, we have church and then dinner at my husband's family's home.
Have a blessed Easter/Passover, everyone!

Good Morning Cherries!
I still do not know what DH and I are doing. DS and his family went away this week. DD and her family HAS TO have EVERY HOLIDAY, BIRTHDAY AND SCHOOL ACTIVITY with her narcistic Bio Mom. I have been spending more than a week spring cleaning as well as totally redoing my scrap room. I have actually taken breaks and stay up/get up in the middle of the night just to scrap! As soon as the scrap room is complete, I can put (hopefully) my printer in there. I bought it 2 years ago but had just had leg surgery so set it up in the living room, and it is still there. Youngest DGS likes to play with it...
THEN, everything from the sun room is coming out. Hopefully DH will put down the new floor we bought a few years ago, get rid of the nasty carpet. Then I am straightening THAT room. Those are the two messes. The rest of the rooms are just straightening up - constantly with a dog and cat, lol!!
So, I want to just go out to eat rather than sadly sit home and cook for two, especially because I am trying to follow my keto diet and DH is all meat/potatoes/carbs. No fruits. No veggies. The only thing we both would eat in common is ham, so it would be like cooking 2 meals!
My mom has invited the whole family for dessert and egg hunt at 4. Not everyone will be there. 7 of the 10 GG grandkids will not be there. Just my youngest grandkids Carsen 2 1/2), his sister Charlotte Rae (10) months and our newest addition, my great nephew Luka James, who is 1 week old.
The only thing I can count on this weekend is scrapbooking and cleaning! The rest is up in the air! Waiting on DH to make a decision, but in the meantime I am making a list of any restaurants we may be able to go to for a brunch or afternoon.
Have a blessed and peaceful Easter Cherries

Wishing everyone a happy holiday weekend. Off today for Good Friday, also a teacher planning day. Doing some house cleaning, a bit behind on that. Planning for a dinner on Sunday, just the four of us, it's been a long time. Hoping to do at least a little scrapping. Planning also for a very fun school week next week with the Lorax. One of my favorite weeks of the year

Good for her! Is she planning to be a Nurse Anesthetist? So awesome. Our surgery center employed several CRNAs.
We are having family for Easter dinner on Sunday. I am cleaning and preparing for everyone. There will be 12 of us which isn't huge, but our retirement home is much smaller than the one we had prior. It's hectic, but fun!

No big plans. Do some scrapping I hope.
Will have Easter with DD and her family on Sunday. Hopefully an egg hunt for the grandkids. But we still have snow in the ground and it isn't leaving any time soon! Good gosh it was snowing out again this morning. Still only 18f out. Certainly no planting!

Today we're getting 3 of the grandkids for a week. Their parents are going on a cruise. First since they had a couple cancelled from covid. We've having our Easter get together tomorrow since most everyone else can come that day. We'll have an egg hunt, Easter baskets, and good food. Will be a busy week for us while they are here.

We colored some eggs last night. Usually for Easter we all get together at SIL's house but she just got home from open heart surgery. We offered to host, but we also have 3 flights of stairs which she can't do yet. So we are all just on our own this year. DD still gets a basket and hunts for the eggs LOL
Aside from Easter happenings, we are moving my office from the living room to what used to be DS's room. I'm excited about having a room with a door (not trying to work in the middle of EVERYTHING!) but I am nervous about the desktop having to depend on the WIFI. Fingers crossed, you guys! If you don't see me around, that's why, haha!

Glad you had a wonderful time with Hil and the grand pups!
Yesterday was spent doing laundry, tidying up my office, and making sugar free lemon bars. I also put together the boys' Easter baskets and put in a couple of hours of work.
Today, just need to vacuum the dining room and living room and finalize the "timeline" for food if we want to "eat by 1pm". My brother, SIL and the boys will be here before noon. When they get here, I'll pop the bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers in the oven and saute the green beans. Cook up the sausage and SIL is bringing deviled eggs, a veggie tray and her famous potato salad. She is even taking her potato salad and swapping the potatoes for cauliflower so DH has something to eat.
Tomorrow will be my "me time" day. Other than slow cooking a pork tenderloin for pulled pork sandwiches, I'll be scrapping!

No planting here either but we do have the cutest little greenhouse from Lowes! It is doing well!
We are having dinner with all of us...9 with sil...and my grandson Jackson in Tallahassee will be eating in the dining hall. I miss all of us being together. The ex-father, husband and sil...#@%&*# has other daughter's kids since last night and until later tonight. Then they will be here until Wednesday night. That is youngest daughter's who lives with me and kids...the one she photoshops the most...haha!
I am so sick of this cold weather. Ready for summer.

Happy Easter/Passover weekend everyone! Sounds like lots of fun plans...
Just Steve and I this year. Won't be doing anything special... Except thanking Jesus for what he did for us!!!
I did order a surprise for the 2 grandsons in Ketchikan. A local church youth group is doing a fundraiser. They would either make a basket or spread eggs around the yards but only in Ketchikan. So for $30 I have ordered 50 eggs to be spread around the yard! They'll be putting the eggs out tonight and then in the morning the boys will get to go find them. I wish we could be there to see it but we need to be here to take care of the dog, cat and goose who's still diligently sitting on her nest full of eggs.
But DIL will be taking pictures. And they'll call. That will be fun to hear about. And I'll have pictures to scrap too!

We had our monthly sleep over at the grandkids house. On Friday we colored Easter eggs, and made Easter cards for their mom and dad. Then of course the Easter Bunny was informed that we would celebrate Easter a day early, so he came to the kid's house. He even made foot prints in the house. He had to come in and drop of baskets and also grab the eggs so he could hide them outside. When the kids woke up yesterday morning and saw the bunny tracks, they got really excited. Then they saw their Easter baskets. Their mom opened the curtains and they all ran to the window. They couldn't get the boots and jackets on fast enough to get outside. Even our little Mazie was able to walk around and find eggs. The boys ran right past the ones in the front yard up by the house so that's where Mazie started. It was so much fun watching them. Then we went in the house and had breakfast. Their dad had to work, so we stayed til lunch time playing games and just enjoying the kids. I was so exhausted when we got home, all I did it sit and tried to watch TV in between closing my eyes. Today I am well rested and will be scrapping the rest of the day.
