ACOT Message Board

I have to say that it has been at least 7 yrs since I last scrapped and that is a guess. Life seemed to get in the way, and when scrapbook groups I was in folded due to MSN closing and for others for their reasons I thought I may never scrap again.

I use to work in our local hospital doing 12 hr shifts as a ER secretary/tech. My husband had a stroke in Sept 2015 and did not come home until Feb 2016.I was on family leave and then had to retire June 1 to care for him at home. So with that being said I need to have a outlet and decided that I wanted to start scrapping again. I am sure that there has been alot that has changed since I was active ,and I always enjoyed swaps. 

I was afraid that scrapbooking was becoming a thing of the past.

So glad you found us and I don't think you will have to worry about this site or store ever closing!  And scrapping is more popular than ever!  LOL, itsa hobby I don't talk about often because I work with all men and lots of my free time is spent with DH, but every time I do talk about it, I meet another scrapper!!!

Welcome to ACOT.  My husband had a mini-stroke on Mother's Day in 2015.  Luckily he was only in the hospital for two days and in Rehab for another 4 days.  After a month he returned to work.  He's had a few other visits to the hospital over the past year (Thanksgiving he was taken in due to bleeding internally from bleeding ulcers) and in February of this year back in again because of A-fib.  But he's still working and I'm now retired.

I see by your user name that you are a grandmother. How many grandchildren do you have?  We have several grams here (me included).

Glad you are here! and I look forward to getting to know you! YEp- Kim nailed it- we are here for each other in life and in scrappiness! 
and Chris's question about how many grands do you have?   I only have puppy-grands (which is fine by me for now! ) Lol!!

Welcome!  I can say that jumping back into scrapping can be done!!  I did it.  I stopped for about 5-6 years after being an avid scrapper.  My kids are school aged now and I have more time to scrap.  I look back on old books and I am so glad I did it.  I wouldn't remember so much if I hadn't scrapped it.  Many local scrapbook stores went out of business around here too.  The challenges on this board give me so much motivation to catch up on all that I fell behind on.  Again, welcome!

Welcome! So happy that you have found us! Yep, scrapping is still a BIG thing here- it is a great community of scrappers! There are so many challenges so jump in and do what you feel comfortable with doing. I know that scrapping is a creative outlet  for me in addition to being therapy. Welcome to ACOT!!!  This is an awesome group and I hope you just jump right in!  I, too, took a break from scrapping but it's really nice to be back and creative!  I agree...scrapping is therapy for sure!!  ...and the message boards are your support group!

NOPE!!! Not a thing of the past here!!!!  We love having you, too, and after seeing your screen name, we have monthly Disney Challenges, too!!!  Welcome, and we are SOOOO happy to have fresh ideas from you!!
