I don't know who is more famous than who.
I've seen a lot more in person without meeting them, and I've met a lot more "stars" - particularly sports stars that I'm not very familiar with since I don't watch their teams or sports in particular. (Mick Jagger, Michael J. Fox, musicians at their concerts, WWE and basketball players in particular).

Tossup between Robin Williams and John Ritter. I met Robin Williams in a gaming store in 1989ish? My friend and I were so suave, telling him we loved all his films ("films" we had to say) and we didn't want to ask for his autograph and appear gauche lol. John Ritter - omg. I literally rolled over his foot with Anthony's baby stroller in 2000 to get a seat on the subway. I had no idea. My husband was dying after we got off the train. He was like you just sat next to John Ritter and were smiling at him. He was bearded and a bit wrinkly - how did I know it was him? LOL I thought he was just a nice man smiling at my baby!! This was during his Clifford the Big Red Dog days.
OOH! I also met in publishing: Dr. Ruth, John Grisham, Frank McCourt, Mary Higgins Clark, Barbara Taylor Bradford--and Robin Cook hit on me LOL!

Hmmmm.....does the husband of a local newscaster count? Probably not which means I've never met anyone famous.
Unless you count "scrapbooking celebrities" then I've met a few of them.
