Let's Chat (books)
Are you a reader?  What have you read lately that was good?  I need to read my book that I picked for our high school book clubs, called "I Capture the Castle."  It is actually written by the lady who wrote "101 Dalmations," so I hope it is  good!

Okay...I'll admit that I am now reading "Grey" the follow up to the Fifty Shades series.

Re: Let's Chat (books)
I am always reading a few books at a time; I keep one at work to read on my lunch hour (right now its the 3rd Game of Thrones book), the 3rd 50 Shades book has been in my beach bag for 2 years.  I have a James Patterson I just got and am finishing up a Michael Connolly novel too

Re: Let's Chat (books)
I was trying to reorganize my bookshelves and started rereading books from my childhood - I'm on the horse shelf. Image So it's been a lot of Jean Slaughter-Doty, Patricia Calvert, Walter Farley... all old stuff.

I recently read a Kindle book on America's Women in history, which was interesting.

I don't know how you can do that.  I could never read 2 books at a time.  My brain isn't wired for more than one at a time.  Must be getting old.

Re: Let's Chat (books)
I just finished 2 James Patterson books - both part of the Alex Cross series.  And then I read a Jonathan Kellerman book. This is all in the last 2 weeks.  I need to stop for a bit so I can get some other stuff accomplished!

I like modern day mysteries with amateur sleuth protagonists.  Prefer they be set either in U.S.A. or the U.K.  But I have to admit that with this layout a day in June and every other day in July, I have read very little his summer except the newspaper and a couple magazines.

Most of my spare time I like to scrap!  And, like Charleneanne, the last couple month's challenges have taken up most of that time.  With doing a little fun stuff this summer.  I've tried to read the things DD#1 is reading, but she beat me on "A Series of Unfortunate Events."  I refused to go on to book 2!

Re: Let's Chat (books)
I've been trying to take more time to read & clean up my bookshelves.  I'm in the middle of Sixteen Brides (Christian Romance) and the book I finished lastly was "The Bishop of Mars."  It was given to me by a friend - I know it sounds really weird, but it turned out to be a cute, fun read.

Re: Let's Chat (books)
Even though my job is copy editing mostly romances (Harlequin and Carina Press), my personal taste in reading runs a bit more "male". I love scifi, fantasy, historical fiction stories. I am anxiously awaiting the release of George RR Martin's The Winds of Winter and really don't want to find out all the details on the show Game Of Thrones rather than reading it in the books! While I wait (lol) I started Bernard Cornwell's The Saxon Chronicles series and am on book three, The Lords of the North. 9th Century Saxons, Danes, Vikings, King Alfred etc etc........my kinda thing! When I am not reading fantasy series, I am working my way through Stephen King's entire oeuvre.
Happy Scrapping!

Anne-Marie I mostly read sci-fi/fantasy as well.  Have you read the Dresden Files series??  I just finished Changes (wow) and am taking a small break before the next one.  I'm reading some Torchwood books which I love (spinoff of Dr. Who for any who don't know).  I have to say 'supernatural procedurals' have replaced 'regular' epic/quest fantasy books for me these days!  Granted Dresden goes beyond procedurals but that was the basis, anyway.

OCD is not an adjective.  It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized.  It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. 💙 I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son. 💙
