OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions.
I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.

Thank you so much everyone! It has been a wonderful day.
Started out with a midnight Facebook posting from my oldest son...he posted that people should harass me about being 50. And the people who know me said "she's not upset, she's celebrating it!" LOL! He also posted about me being old enough to remember what it was like to poop without a smart phone lol. Gotta love my family.
Then I took DD to DH's work to bring him lunch, so we all ate together. Some of his coworkers knew it was my birthday and wished me Happy Birthday..that was sweet. On the way home, I decided to find local businesses that would give me something free for my birthday. Ended up with a free Super Big Gulp from one 7-11, a pretzel from Auntie Anne's, cookies and juice at the Michigan Community Blood Center (will tell you that story in a minute), a medium slurpee from a different 7-11, and ice cream at Baskin-Robbins. I didn't necessarily want to use coupons...I just wanted to walk in and see who would celebrate my 50th birthday with me. Had a great time! lol Then Bob (DH) told me he'd forgotten his cell phone at work...I can see him doing that. So he and I and DD (Ali) headed to Saginaw to the HOme Depot to get his phone. Bob was chatting along the way, and forgot to turn in at Home Depot. Not surprising...he messes up turns all the time if he's talking. He truly is the man who cannot multi-task. Then he and Ali were joking about going to Courtney's house (one of Ali's good friends) just to say hi and turn around in their driveway...being silly. Again...wouldn't put it past them. Before we got that far though, Bob said "enough...I'm not going all the way to Courtney's" and pulled into the Olive Garden. I thought he did that to turn around, and my thought was that isn't the easiest parking lot to turn around in. Bob stopped in front of the door and said "Get out. Your daughter's buying you a birthday dinner." I thought he was joking. He repeated "get out." They were serious! I got birthday dinner at The Olive Garden! And while they don't do a free dessert, I got 2 wine samples for free! That's part of their menu. Then the waitress let me have 2 more wine samples for free, just because it's my 50th! lol
On the way home, Ali wanted to get ice cream because she had promised the younger boys she would get them ice cream since they didn't get to go out to eat. So she bought me one of my favorites...rainbow sherbet. She said I didn't get dessert and I deserved it, so she bought it for me! And the checkout printed out a $20 coupon for filling a prescription...you get $20 in merchandise for filling a prescription. And I actually have a prescription at that store waiting to be picked up! So it was like a $20 gift! What a day!
And the best part....we aren't even celebrating my birthday until the weekend when we all have a little more time off! What a great family I have!
Oh...and the Michigan Blood Center deal? Ali dontates blood regularly...and she hit her first gallon mark today! She was so excited, and it was great to be a part of it. They let me take pictures of her donating, and I even got a picture of her holding the filled unit of blood when she was done donating. I am so proud of her! It was great to have that milestone a part of my day.
