Good Morning! June, Fri 13th

How is everyone today? I've not been on much in a good while and thought I'd start a GM thread to see who's around and what's up. I'm seeing some new cherries (at least to me). Hello from me if I missed your intro thread. I've had a busy couple of months and things are getting back to normal now. Family from my Dad's side and my own daughter was down, my son had a birthday, and just things in general that have kept me from scrapping and being on ACOT. Good to be posting again.
I'm seeing clouds outside so a good chance for rain. We have had our share of rain down here in NW Fla lately, for sure. Floods and roads washed out that were unbelievable. Scenic Hwy in Pensacola is still blocked off due to bad washouts. I love driving that hwy cause it follows the Escambia bay and is a higher elevation and it's a nice view over the water.
The rain is helping keeping our area green though. We can easily dry out quickly in this sandy soil and grass gets crispy and brown. My daughter and her children (all 6 of them) created a lovely flower bed along the back corner of my house. It was a total surprise that she had plan to do this when she came down for a Mother's day gift to me. I'm not much on designing and landscaping and of course she wanted my imput so I looked up flower and shrubs for that area of the yard and our locality and she went shopping for me and came back with a lovely assortment. Now I'm hoping I can keep it up so it'll fill out and be more beautiful when she comes down from TN next. It's right off my patio so easy to get to it and water.
So, how is everyone? What's on your agenda today? May your day be a good one and don't let that ole Fri 13th stuff get you!

Good morning! Raining here, but a very comfortable 64 degrees!
Have already done my laundry and mopped the floors. Have a doctor's appointment at 12:00, then I have to stop and get my dad something for Father's day, though I have no idea what.

Good to see you Debbie! And good morning! Not much news to report from me, but we've gotten a little rain in the last couple weeks. Not enough though. We are in drought here.
I've been busy with summery stuff with my kids--going shopping some (they are into the rubber band looms and making bracelets and things) and we went to Frontier City amusement park one day this week. Now, I've been planning craft activities for our church's vacation bible school. And, I need to work on planning my DD#1's 13th birthday party! Then, in a few more weeks, we'll be going to church youth camp. I'm going as a sponsor, so will have to take my youngest two kids also.
But, in the meantime, I've been working on some challenges! We have some great ones this month!

Good Morning Debbie - nice to hear from you. I'm currently on vacation waiting for DH to get out of the shower so we can go and do some sight seeing. He wanted to sleep in so I have already ventured out and took some pictures. We are going on a little boat cruise in a couple of hours. It is finally a beautiful day. Yesterday while we were driving up here we hit rain and it was windy and cold the rest of the evening. So we didn't do too much, but that's ok. We did walk downtown and took in some of the sights and stopped at a Casino. Then we stopped for some Chinese dinner and headed back to the hotel. Sounds like the shower shut off now so I had better get my shoes back on so I am ready to go when he is.

Good morning all. I have been doing some work on the computer this morning, and soon I am going to meet up with a couple of friends to get our nails done. Then hopefully some scrap time this afternoon! Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning!!
More rain here (all week) and I have cleaned the house except for the scrap room so I guess I have put it off as long as I can. yesterday I did get all the card making and stamp pads in one place (moved at Christmas and still trying to organize). So far today i have laundry going, walked three miles and did an ab routine with DD and overflowed the pool (oops!!!) Plans for the rest of the day include making progress on the scrap room and finishing the laundry. If the weather clears off I need to mow the lawn, and my classroom is being moved so if they call about that I'll be going in to help move and unpack it all.
All that said, this will also be my first day home alone (kids both work all afternoon as does DH so who knows what will actually happen around here!!!
Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Whew! wearing me out reading how busy you are, LOL. Summertime with the kids can keep you busy and sounds like you are very involved. Good for you, but take some time to breathe! Glad you can do a little scrapping.

Wow, that's a late time for the MRI. I was going to call you to see what you were doing this weekend. Let me know when you see the doc again and get results.

Thankyou! Yeah, busy but still not as busy as some of you all are. Just getting older and harder to keep up, I guess. Glad you are getting a break from the rain. It's a steady light rain here now. Makes me want to grab my book and just be lazy and read. Fun stuff sounds like the perfect plan for your vacay! Don't let anything get in the way!

Hi Debbie - you've been missed! Just another work day for me but counting down the hours until the beginning of the weekend. My hubby and I celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary on Wednesday and we plan to have a weekend of "Ed and Chris" which means very little errands or chores, going out Saturday to our favorite restaurant and just relaxing and enjoying each other's company. And by relaxing, that means scrapping for me!!

Good afternoon! Good to see you posting again Deb!
I'd love to say that my day is almost over, but nope. I worked my regular shift this morning, stayed a little late and then have to go back in for a couple of hours tonight. I didn't really want to, but someone had agreed to take on the additional hours and then got laryngitis. I said I would take them if she absolutely needed me to, and of course today she told me she did, even though her voice is almost back to normal.
Yesterday I tried canceling cable, and most of you probably know what I mean when I say it was almost impossible. They have "this" deal and "that" deal and blah blah blah. We need to save some money and our cable bill was getting outrageous and always going up a little here and a little there. I just wanted to keep the internet, but wound up going with basic cable and internet. The lady told me a fib and said that just the internet was going to cost me $74.99+ tax/fees. However - I could keep the internet that I already have and bundle it with basic cable so I could at least have some tv for only $64.99. I asked about the cheaper internet and she said - well, you COULD get the $14.99 internet, but you would have a hard time streaming and watching shows streamed from online. I asked about in-between and she said there wasn't anything in-between. I kind of figured she was fibbing, but told her I'd try it for a week and decide. I went on my account and their site and found out that the $74.99 internet was for the absolute PREMIUM internet, and there were many more costs in between, with several internet speeds.
So - turned in all my DVR boxes today and talked to the local guy to see what the real price would be. That price is $54.50 with tax/fees. I can get 3 more speeds in between mine and the 14.99 one - each one is about a $10 difference/mo. We'll see how it goes. If I keep it as is we're saving $135/mo. We can get most of the shows/movies we like with hulu plus and Netflix for $15 between the 2 anyway, so don't need all the extra channels anymore.
I stopped at the place next to the cable company and got my Bubble Tea, and then just home.
I've not been scrapping this week - I've been working on my miniatures, doing some building on the dollhouse.

Busy busy spring indeed! How sweet of your daughter to build you a pretty bed of plants. Won't be hard to keep up if you spend fifteen minutes twice a week other then watering and a soaking hose is perfect for that. I know your enjoying it.
enjoy some time to scrap!

Doesn't that just burn you up the way these companies do? The costs are ridiculous and they bundle to get you roped in to their services which are always for a limited time.
I'd love to see your dollhouse! Do share one day!

You are always one hard working lady! Sorry it's been so crazy and I'm assuming it's your job work. How's those babies doing and are you and Mom and Dad still under one roof? Just that has to make things crazy!
