Good Morning! It is another glorious Spring-like day in Pensacola. Great day for traveling. We should be on the road in less than an hour! But the road is only 1 1/2 hours long for us today. Then I will see my sweet grandsons! I can't wait. One of them, at least has a soccer game, then both have a Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet tonight. It is gratifying to me for them to be in Cub Scouts. So good for them in spite of politics. It feels like I have been anticipating this for a very long time. And I have. All my boys were in Boy Scouts. I have two Eagle Scouts and two more Life Scouts. Now to see it continue to work in the family is so good. I was very involved and loved it (for me as well as the boys). Well, I am going to go now. I don't always have access to a computer in Mississippi so maybe someone can start this thread on Sunday morning for me? Please. Thanks. And everyone, be safe today. God bless you all!
What are your plans for this blessing of a day? Be safe, happy and warm!
I was a Girl Scout and today my DD is selling Girl Scout Cookies with her troop.
I was hoping for warmer weather so I could go over to Mom's place and pack up some stuff. I really do not want to turn the heat on over there and it is a little too chilly today.
Guess I will TRY to finish a PILE of layouts that need this or that to call them finished.
Need to work on my WDW photos so I can place an order soon.
Also, doing laundry.

Good morning Bibi! Last night after I performed an upgrade for my client, DH and I went out to eat, followed by Hobby Lobby (my original album for Vincent's layouts broke and I got a new, larger and more sturdier. DH even picked it out.
); PetCo (Lady needed some food, and Ruby, Bear, and Jeffrey have birthdays in two weeks so I got some special treats); Wal-Mart (more large ziploc, vacuum seal bags); and Home Depot (bathroom paneling). By then we were exhausted. Wanted to sleep in but the pups weren't having that. LOL. So here I am! Dogs fed. Dishwasher unloaded. Drinking my coffee now, then make breakfast for DH and I. We need groceries then the rest of the day we'll be working on getting the master bedroom cleaned up and out!

This morning I am just chilling out and being lazy. Doing my daily downloads (I get roughly 3-4 free digital kits every month just by downloading a piece of them every day), and watching TV. The Olympics are on in about 15 minutes....DH was teasing me about watching them almost nonstop, but I told him the Olympics are only once every 4 years and I WILL watch them! He doesn't really care, he just likes to tease me.
The kids have a guard competition this afternoon. We don't leave here until 1:30 or so....but the competitions are mostly around the Detroit area, so are a minimum of about 100 miles away. I'm not sure why, but guard is not big in the schools around here, so most of the competitions are some distance away. I don't mind though. I have always been one of the drivers...this team doesn't seem to have a lot of parental involvement, so I love being there for the kids and having them see a mom who is involved. Last night at practice, I handed out the team tee shirts we had made. Before each kid could get their shirt though, I made them say something positive...either why they joined guard, or what they like about it, or something. The coaches loved that I did that, the kids groaned but then laughed their way thru it. I'm pretty much a presence at least at the beginning of each practice...the coaches love the extra support, and the kids seem to take me as a part of the team now, I just don't get out of the floor with them! lol So...we leave here around 1:45.....the kids that are riding with me live along the first few miles of the way down there, so I said I'd pick them up rather them having to find rides to a central meeting point. Warmup begins at 5:50, they perform at 6:24 or so. Hopefully they place a little better than last time....at least to give them some reinforcement and encouragement. They rewrote a fairly large part of the program last night, which is typical of guard until the final competition, but the kids were feeling a little frustrated last night. But all the costumes are in, the show flags are done (they make new flags each year that match the theme and colors of the show they are doing)....I think they're going to look great! We won't be home until easily 10-11pm. It's a long day, but I love it!

Good Morning! It's 7F here after we got a foot of snow yesterday - where's this Florida place you speak of??
I just dropped in for a minute - I'm one of the hosts for a baby shower today....my youngest son and his wife expect a boy is 6 weeks. I never realized how much effort went into a huge shower - 50 people will be there. 50!! I think I'll mainly hide out in the kitchen!!

I wonder, sometimes, if we ever give God a headache.
Yeah, the whole concept of 60+ degrees in February is beyond my comprehension! lolJeanG wrote:Good Morning! I'm not a party kind of gal...I find them overwhelming, especially all the planning. Good luck with the shower!
Morning all! We are a scouting family too. DH and I were both scouts growing up, our kids, and now our oldest granddaughter has been a girl scout for several years. Yesterday we started a diet and more exercise. Ate healthy, walked an hour, and worked out with the Wii for an hour. Been day visiting MIL in the hospital and then going for a hair cut with my Sis who lives an hr. away.
Today is a much quieter day, but we'll get out and walk and doing some working out too. Feel more energized eating healthier and exercising.
I'll squeeze in some scrapping this evening.
Have a GREAT day, all!

Good morning! I was out to the grocery store by 6:00. The shopping itself was uneventful, but the drive - Holy Hannah! It is really freakin' windy here! Going to mop the floors and then *try* to scrap!
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions.
I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.

I have a Life Scout too. It's the rank just below Eagle. My son never finished his Eagle project which is required for the highest rank. Several things came into play at that age for him, but I'm still proud of him achieving Life! He learned a lot through BSA and I loved being a leader for the cubs. Funny that Bibi and I didn't even know each other then but when we met we found several things in common. Guess that's helped make us such good friends.Ayla wrote:Hey Bibi....what's a Life Scout? I'm fighting a head cold these last couple of days. Headache this morning so I took some meds and hope it'll help. I have a party to go to in a bit. My dad's birthday was this week and we are having a dinner for all the family today. He's 78 years young! It's been rough on him this year, his dementia has worsened and celebrating his life while he can is not something to take lightly. That's all I have planned today. Getting ds dressed and ready and enjoying this beautiful sunny day at my folks with family. Yep, camera ready!

Sunny and warm here my dears. Made it to 70 yesterday. But still winter really since it is going to rain most of next week and we really need the winter to last a while longer to help alleviate this drought situation. Still cool enough in the mornings to put the pellet stove on when I get up but now when it goes off around noon, we don't always need it back on after supper. Havent run the house heater in weeks now.
I cleaned house, changed bed linens in DH's room, did laundry, super scrubbed that back bathroom since younger DS is going to be working in there this week fixing the dang drippy shower. I have been going non-stop since about 8:30 this morning and boy am I done with housework. At least for today. lol Bullriding on tonight and making tacos for supper. Tomorrow bull riding again and SKYPE with DD and DGS and finally dinner with both my boys. Phew weekends can be busy. lol
Have a wonderful trip to Mississippi to see the grandkids Bibi. My DH was an Explorer scout and my older DS was in scouting until age 14 also.
Have a good and a warm and a very safe day all.

Everyone sounds so busy! I clean during the week, so today I did a little shopping with the family then had a nice lunch out. Then met up with a friend and did some scrappy shopping (I love girl time!!!) Now I am catching up on here and hoping to get some scrapping in - gotta make room for all the stuff I just ordered

Boy Scouts have several ranks that the boys work on as they do the merit badges. Each rank has about 20 requirements that the boy achieves by participating in BS or on his own and sometimes with a mentor. Eagle Scout is the highest rank but there are even higher parts of that one. However, most boys don't make it to Eagle because they 1. get a driver's license. 2. discover girls. 3. join a sports team that takes most of their time. Most boys need a lot of support and parental participation to meet the stated goals. But it is all worth it. All things being equal, being an Eagle Scout can tip the scales in the boys favor when it comes to getting that last place acceptance or job.Ayla wrote:Hey Bibi....what's a Life Scout?
