What kind of Christmas tree do you get?
Did you grow up with that kind?

Hubby and I both grew up with fake trees, and we have a fake. Love it :)

I grew up with a real tree, and had one for the first few years I was married. But, I am allergic to pine needles, so I switched to an artificial one about 5 years ago. That's about the same time that my parent switched to artificial as well. Bf is also allergic to pine needles so it works well in our house.

I always have an artificial tree, but I can remember when I was very young we had a real tree.

Grew up with both. Fake at my moms and real at my dads. We do fake at our house.

Grew up with both. We have a fake tree. I don't want to deal with a real one and I got an awesome deal on the fake one on Black Friday during our first Christmas together. Can't beat 12 years for $25 and still going strong! :winkb: (That's what I paid for the tree, not for my husband)

DH has grown up with real all of his life, me - fake. We have a fake as my mother is allergic. And with doggies around, it is just easier to have a fake.

I grew up with both, but mostly fake. Then when I got married we stayed with fake until 3 years ago. We started just going out and buying a precut real one, until this year. We are going to start a new tradition. All 5 of us are going to a Christmas Tree Farm this Sunday and we are going to pick one out together and cut it down. And YES, I will be taking pictures too. Apparently Santa will be there and there will be horse drawn wagon rides along with a petting zoo. I am so excited.

We grew up with a mix of real and fake, usually 2 trees went up in the house, one of each.
DD is allergic to pine needles, so we go fake now. I kind of miss the real smell, but not the needle mess.

Until I was 17, we had an artificial tree. Then we had a real one for a year or two and ultimately replaced it with another artificial tree.

DH & I have an artificial tree but we don't put it up anymore. It's too big and we're too lazy to go through the hassle, esp since we don't entertain.

Always had a fake one growing up, and we do an artificial tree too. I think I like calling it that better than "fake"! lol! And, I'm going with the pre-lit; it's so convenient!

Never dreamed I would want a fake tree, but now I do. But I got tired of vacuuming up the pine needles every year, so we got a fake one a couple of years ago. Love it! Never thought i would.

I grew up with real trees - my mother would never consider a fake one!

When I first moved in with my husband, we got a real tree that was a small tabletop one. When we moved out of the apartment 4 years later, we still found some pine needles from that first tree!! Now we usually put up a small fake one as it's less hassle. Plus we usually travel for the holidays so it's just easier to have a fake tree.

I'm not sure I'll even get a tree up this year! I haven't even gotten out the Christmas boxes yet!

I grew up with a real tree and I remember Mom and Dad always arguing about it. Trying to get it set up in the living room, the stand was always crooked, etc. etc. Needles always fell off early. We had a real tree for a few years after getting married but really didn't like having the needles in the carpet so we've always had fake ones since.

I grew up with both. It was always my job to get on my hands and knees and pick up fallen pine needles because the vacuum didn't like them. That was enough to remind me to never ever get a real tree. So, fake from the beginning of our marriage forward.

I grew up with both (in the sixties we had a SILVER fake tree....pretty hideous!!). When we were first married we had a real tree but we are now on our 3rd fake tree. I think they get out of shape after a few years. And as we get older, our trees get smaller. :-D

I grew up with a real tree. I didn't know there way any other type until I got married. Then it was sometimes real, sometimes artificial. The artificial trees weren't fantastic in the 80s... lol. I prefer a real tree, but dh convinced me to get an artificial tree by telling me I could have whichever one I wanted. I did some research and bought one from Balsam Hill. Since the boys are all grown and I've become disabled, a 6 foot tree seemed big enough - so I use that every year now. I do buy a live wreath, which still gives the fragrance of a tree. Win-Win.

When I was little we always had a real tree. My dad and all the men on his side of the family were boy scouts/eagle scouts/troop leaders and they sold trees at my dads corner store as a fundraiser with the boy scouts every year. When my parents divorced and we moved to Texas it was easier to have a fake tree. We have a big fake one at our house and I love it!

Wow! I am really surprised at how many people have a fake tree. I grew up with real ones, used a fake one for a few years when I was a single mom with a few dozen kids at home, and we went back to real about 3 years ago. I wouldn't have it any other way! I do put up a small fake one in addition to a large real one...last year it went up in the enclosed front porch, the year before that it was in our dining room. This year I think it'll be in our bedroom. I love trees, and DH caters to me that way. Last year we actually had a total of 3 Christmas trees up and decorated in various sizes! lol
