I do need to add I cleaned my entire kitchen, exhausted as I was - because something smelled bad. I figured cat puke, handwipe, garbage disposal, etc. but NOOOOO. I left the gas on for TWO DAYS. Nice. God is good, He didn't blow up the building.
My brother emailed me from California, and as for my high cholesterol - suggested that he heard avocadoes were good for cholesterol. So he thought it might be wise to make guacamole dip and have a few Margaritas. He said at least I wouldn't CARE my cholesterol was high.
Same brother also was upset over my son's accident - is he ok, are you sure he's ok - and I finally had said physically, sore, but fine, mentally a wreck over losing or at least really demolishing that expensive car. He said "Why? It's just metal." I said "Oh, I think it's an extension of manhood, like a Corvette not driven for 15 years in a garage." (My brother has a beautiful red metallic corvette - in his garage. Never drives it, probably rusted and won't start anymore)
Thanks to all of you for helping me get thru yesterday. Obviously - no scrapping - by the time I got home - I collapsed.
He's right though...the car is just metal and it is replaceable if not fixable!
And I love your brother's comments about not caring if it's high or not...i think DH functions at that level lol.
Here's to a better day today!

Wow....you are lucky that nothing happened after leaving the gas on for two days. Yikes!
And your brother is right, the car is just a chunk of metal that could be replaced or fixed. At least your son is okay.
And yes, avacadoes are good for you. So make plenty of guacamole. I love it!

Besides the not so good things you wrote about, your overall post made me laugh. I have 'those' days when I just want to scream, so I was relating mine to your bad day.
So glad that all is well with having the gas on for 2 days... You are blessed!
Your brother is right about the car, and I love his thoughts on the cholesterol! I do hope today is a much better day for you!

It was especially funny coming from my brother - he's the picture of a healthy person - he is 54 and just completed the "Death Ride" 100 mile bike ride thru the California Alps. He's amazing!lastonehom wrote:Besides the not so good things you wrote about, your overall post made me laugh. I have 'those' days when I just want to scream, so I was relating mine to your bad day.

I had a gas leak this week, also. All fixed to a very high price! But, at least my house is not blown up and no one was hurt. Glad you had similiar results!:-D And especially happy that your ds is fine.
Bibi
Aw Bibi, thank you! I'm sorry yours was expensive, mine was just a tiny minute turn of my wrist. Oh how horrible this was to even think about! And boy am I happy Joey's ok. He said today he's 98% ok. That means he only 75%. I've seen him be really sick and think he was FINE.1grandma wrote:I had a gas leak this week, also. All fixed to a very high price! I have done the same thing with the gas. Scary but glad it turned out ok. And I agree about the avocados!
