For me, the answer has been no. I don't like to run, or do other types of exercise that make me sweat. But, I have latched onto something! I got Just Dance 3 for the Wii and I love it! Just started doing the Just Sweat dances and I worked for half an hour, got really sweaty, and didn't even feel like I was exercising because it was dancing. Let me tell you, those dances are hard! I did the 80's Dance and I love the music, but I don't know if I will ever be able to keep up. Doesn't matter, because it was fun! Even Paisley wanted to dance with me. LOL!

I dislike most forms of exercise, too... but I have always loved dancing. The Just Dance series is one of my favs, as well. (I also am a lady with a Wii).
That sounds really fun. We don't have any gaming units, but I've always enjoyed fast walking and light weights.

Good for you! Barb and I joined the City's Recreation Centers last April and have been either exercising on treadmills and weight machines or a senior exercise class. I have noticed a considerable change in energy and Barb's dr took her off her blood pressure meds so it's obviously working!

I'm always looking for good exercise games for our Wii. I now have put the game on reserve at our library and also reserved the kid's version for the boys to try. I love checking Wii games out at the library.......you get it for 7 days. It has helped us a lot in deciding if we should purchase items or not. And you can't beat free!
I hate exercise and will find any excuse to avoid it. My friend and I work out at curves and if she doesn't go, I don't go. I have thought about the wii and getting some exercise program for it. I am allergic to sweat,( I swear), I didn't realize I was having an allergic reaction until I took an epi-pen training and we talked about workout allergies. I get hives and I am extremely itchy during workouts when I sweat. Weird!

That sounds so cool! I will definitely have to check that out! Maybe something I could do with Maddie around. She loves to dance.

I hate exercise, I hate walking, I hate going outdoors (unless I'm swimming) and I hate pretty much all the sweating stuff. But you go right ahead and enjoy sweating. ![Very Happy :-D](./images/smilies/smile_lol_16.png)

I too hate exercising and sweating, but when I put on richard simmons "Sweating With The Oldies" I can really get into it and forget it is good for me. LOL

She could do it with you. There is also a part on it that is a game for 2 to 4 players. (You need two wii remotes to do this.) Or she could just dance beside you without the remote.pawprints wrote:Art_Teacher wrote:For me, the answer has been no. I don't like to run, or do other types of exercise that make me sweat. Thanks for the info. I will definitely look into this. When I do any kind of exercise it HAS to be to music.

It's probably not the sweat, but a histamine release your body does during times of stress. It's part of our fight-or-flight response. Some people are just more sensitive. You could try some Benadryl before exercise if it doesn't make you too sleepy, or one of the non sedating anti histamines like Claritin or Zyrtec (store brand of course... just as effective and much cheaper than brand name!).gonecamping wrote:I hate exercise and will find any excuse to avoid it. I think that the library idea is really cool. I should learn how to use my WII, check out some of the games, especially the dancing ones and do it. I hate to sweat so I do not go outside much. I try to walk in my neighborhood during the spring and fall, but summer is too hot and winter is too cold, even in Florida. LOL

We love the wii dance games....all of my kids play them too (5, 10, 12) We have all 3 and a 4th one is coming out soon. We also love the Michael Jackson experience. I bought Evan the Black Eyed Peas experience for his birthday. Can't wait to try that as well. we sweat a lot during these dance games.

I should try the dancing ones. I'm having a hard time getting in the exercise mode. However, i am sweating in this hot tub!.

I break out in a sweat while doing practically nothing.
However it is a fun game..a couple of my coworkers were playing it on our lunch break one day...i hurt from laughing.

ha ha that's great Laura, I love The Just Dance series on the wii. That's the only game I'll play with the kids. I always take it to my adult parties and they have just as much fun as the kids (maybe more-ha!)
-If it's scrappy it makes me happy!
I can't think of fun and sweat in the same sentence.
