Can Opener
This is a strange scrapbook-unrelated question. We had a manual can opener for many years before it wore out. I have since bought 2 rather expensive ones that didn't last very long. Can you recommend one that will last?

Re: Can Opener
I use only manual can openers! It's just not worth the expense or time or space to operate an electric one, I've been there done that. For me it was not about being green......it was about the time when cooking. The one at our Angleton home is mid priced and purchased like at Target type store. I've had it for 20 years. The one at the ranch that cheap basic can opener from Wally World is harder to operate and has served us well for five years now.

Re: Can Opener
Our can opener is almost 12 years old. I have no clue what brand it is. I remember getting the pampered chef one and used it a hand full of times.

Re: Can Opener
I bought an OXO Good Grips can opener a few years ago and LOVE it! It's the best one I've found in a long time. Like it so much, I convinced my parents to get one too. Here is a photo of it at Amazon but I got mine (a white one) in the kitchen section at Macys I think. My parents got theirs at Safeway. I love the easy to use button release and the little magnet on the front to life can lids.

Re: Can Opener
I have an electric and a hand held. I use them both just depending on my mood I guess. LOL I've had them for years and have no clue about the brand.

Re: Can Opener
Got our manual one almost 22 years ago as a wedding gift in a kitchen utensil set so I'm no help.

Re: Can Opener
I think mine is a Rubber Maid one I got at a kitchen store that has closed... sigh. It's plain, but it sure works well - and it's going on over 10 years old. If you find one you love, please share.

Re: Can Opener
I have gone throught this very problem just recently. My old can opener broke. Replaced it with one from Walmart. Used it about two weeks then it broke. Replaced that one with another one from Walmart. IT broke after I used it twice! So frustrating! I really need to keep those receipts.
