Kristen, I see in your gallery that you do both paper scrapping and digi scrapping. Which is your favorite and why?

Has it been difficult getting your photography business restarted after your big move? What is your favorite subject to photograph?

That's kinda like asking me to chose between my children. LOL! I love them both for very different reasons. With digi, I can get a layout done fast, and almost immediately after taking the photos. Paper though draws me in with all the hands-on, getting messy & building layers with lots of texture and interactivity.

Hey there!! Thanks for posting this!! I've been without internet this week, thanks to moving and a "wonderful" new internet provider. As I type, I'm sitting at the airport and its the first I've had internet in a week!!! I went through serious withdrawals without it too!! I'll try my best to answer all your questions, I love talking about myself. Haha, no, I really don't, but I'll do my best to give good answers.

It definitely wasn't easy in the beginning. I felt like I was starting over; had no referral system to lean back on so it was a LOT of marketing and getting my name out into the community. And it was a weird jump because our new market is so saturated with other photogs and I wasn't used to that at all. But the nice thing about that is that people are aware what lifestyle photography is more, and are willing to try new locations & creative shoots which I love!
Although I've branched out and do a lot of maternity, newborns & now weddings, my favorite subject is still probably kids. I really love the age between 3 & 5 though because they aren't afraid of new people and exploring the world around them. Plus they don't have that trained "cheese" smile quite yet. (That usually comes through at about 6 and doesn't leave til they're teens!)

Late at night when the house is quiet. If I don't feel like editing but am not tired, I love to just sit and make a page with a movie or ipod on. Relaxes me.

I figured out while packing my scrap room that I have a LOT of scrap crap. So aside from the basic tools, my favorite thing to use on a page is probably my border punches. I use those suckers on everything!

If you had asked me this question last week my answer would have been different (I had about 150 sq ft of my own in a much larger great room), but as of right now, my scrappy space is all packed up in boxes waiting for me to unpack and organize (again!). The plan is for me to share my scrappy space with our newborn's nursery. LOL. I'm taking over the baby's closet with all my crafty stuff and going to use a portable/foldable 6' craft table when I want to scrapbook or create. Hubby doesn't really realize yet, but I'll probably be scrapping on the dining room table a lot, just so I don't have to deal with the folding of the table, lol! Baby is stuck with putting all his stuff in the furniture pieces! I guess I'll be having to choose between storing more diapers & storing more paper..... hmmmm.... hard choice.

Tie between October Afternoon & Sassafras for paper. And hands down, Making Memories steals my heart with embellishments.

Good morning, I can't imagine moving again. How is your unpacking going? Are you overwhelmed or enjoying the process of starting new and organized?
And I don't think my kids or dh has ever grown out of that "cheese" smile phase.

The move was actually fairly easy this time. For me at least. Being preggo has its benefits! LOL! I to pack a box, tell them where to put it and then unpack it now that its at the new house. Haha. I've gotten my kitchen and bathrooms exactly how I want them, and then had to leave to California for 5 days. But my amazing DH is unpacking, organizing and cleaning while I'm away. I think he's really excited about starting fresh, I know I am!
