how do kids do this?
My kids both had colds all last month. They had one and then got over it only to get a new one 2 days later. Their latest cold has hit me and I feel like I've been run over. My trashcan is full of tissues, my nose hurts, my head aches, and my eyes just want to take a nap.

I'm hoping for a rally here because I have a class to teach in 14 minutes. ugh.

pop the pills as soon as you *think* you have a dry throat or teensy sniffle. I like Dayquill with vitamin C. Mucinex has been working well with the chesty colds too. I know what you mean though, it never fails to start with me and then come back around to end with me all over again. *sigh*

nice, Pam. now.. what do I have in the frig?

One more meeting to make it through and then it's wine with dinner tonight.

I took my box of tissues to class with me. It turned out to be a really good idea.

OMG. I totally understand - it's like a two week on two week off cycle with colds this time of the year. For the kids, and unfortunately me too! I would have thought I could escape some of their nasty germs with my "more experienced" immune system every now and then.

Hope you get to feeling better quickly! I'm all about the nyquil too - cold drugs + alcohol!!

Re: how do kids do this?
Kids have colds right now, only the second round of the year. I very rarely get one...I'm lucky I guess. With all the exposure at work and from having 6 kids worth of germs....I must have a good immune system. On the rare occasion I do get a cold however, I am a firm believer in Sudafed (generic of course)....solves all the problems!

I go for the big drugs and then call in. Take a nice nap, that just leads into bed time ;)

I have been lucky and haven't had a cold yet this year, but I swear by lots of rest, fluids and Vitamin C. I don't know if this makes any difference but everyday I have been eating a cup of super yogurt, with Pre and Probiotics that is supposed to help your immune system. My ds has had several colds this year and I haven't caught one from him.

I don't think 14 minutes is long enough for a rally! Good luck, anyway, and I hope you feel better.:-D

Re: how do kids do this?
yeah, 14 minutes wasn't long enough. I took the box of tissues with me to class and it was good that I did so I didn't drip on the students.

Then I had a 2 hour meeting and I blew my way through that.

I'm at home now, editing pictures. I really just want to go to bed. Doubt I'll hit the medicine or the bottle until tomorrow. I want to really sleep, not drug or alcohol induced sleep.

I went to bed at 8pm hoping to fight it off.
I feel worse, so time to hit the cold medicine.

I really do feel bad for the kids because all the good cold medicine for them has been taken off the market.

Ugh! Feel better! I don't know how to tell you to rally because other than sinus headaches and migraines, I haven't been sick in years...crossing all my fingers and toes and backing out of the room!
