Spent my birthday morning with my first visit to an Archivers. So overwhelming. Didn't spend too much, but truly enjoyed it!!!! Have you ever been??

my 1st time was while I was in Austin TX on business, good thing I drove because I spent over $100 because I just had to have this set of bags - that I no longer have. lol
I find it overwhelming too not sure why though - I went in March in Illinois and I think I spent about $20.00
I still can't believe there isn't one in the Pittsburgh area.
that's a nice birthday treat

Since there is one about 15 min from my house, and I don't have a LSS, I go there way too often!!
Which one did you go to??

We don't have one too near us, but DD has one near her in NC so I try to go when we're there. To be honest, I like my LSS better.

I went to one in Chicago when I was there for CHA...I DID spend too much, LOL
Aren't they a beautiful store though?

I've been to one once or twice but never gotten anything... just seems too impersonal... but that may have just been the store I went to...

I spent an hour & a half in ours Thursday after work - I love it!! Ours always has tons of "clearance" items (most are only 25% off which I call a sale but not clearance, lol) and then a whole wall of bins of things for $1.99 each. Plus the normal displays of new lines, and theme sections (wedding, baby girl/boy, sports & school, vacation, etc.) and the huge rubber stamp section plus alterables, page kits... etc.!
I can never get out in less than an hour so can only go when I know I have plenty of time. I'm on their email list and they always send coupons though my biggest item wasn't very big so I only got $1.20 off, but that's still something! And I spent over $30 so I get the free Shutterfly photo book during the current promotion, now I just have to figure out what pics to use!

I'd love to visit one, but none show up on the map wherever I travel.

I was beginning to think I was the only one who wasn't terribly impressed. I've only been to 1, and it's an hour and a half away so I've only been there 2 or 3 times, but I don't particularly care for it. Maybe they aren't all the same, but this one seems to organize by color only....the store is a rainbow from corner to corner but paper lines aren't kept together, and they don't seem to carry all the papers in a given line. This one didn't have the clearance wall that PezKat mentioned, or at least I didn't see anything that qualified as clearance (and I'm with her on that too...25% is a sale, NOT a clearance!). I guess I'm spoiled by better LSS's nearer to me.amberella wrote:I've been to one once or twice but never gotten anything... just seems too impersonal... but that may have just been the store I went to...
I've never been but a lot of people on here seem to like it. Did you?

Archiver's is awesome. My first visit to one was in Westminster, Colorado. There layout of the store is awesome! I usually go to the Katy, Texas Archiver's.. The one in Austin is nice too though.

I went to the one in Provo, utah when I was visiting my niece there the summer of 2010. I liked it cause the people were friendly and they had some neat things that my lss didn't normally carry. They had a section of paper by different manufacturers with the accessories but I didn't think there were that many to choose from. But you know what they say, the more choices you give someone, the less likely they are to buy.
Today is the first time I've heard of it! Maybe New Orleans has one!

I have gone to the one in the Mall of America twice now~ I love it~ The most I have for a scrapbooking store is Hobby Lobby, Which is 2 hours away, So when I go in there I do get overwhelmed but I love it.
My Sister is so great ~ she takes the kids and gives me all the time that I want to look around.

Wow, I can't even imagine Archiver's w/o a huge selection, lol! Ours has all these sections: Seasonal when you walk in, Albums, pens/adhesive/punches/die cuts, clearance, wedding, baby girl & boy, licensed, school/sports, travel, cardstock, cards, stamps, Jolee's & similar, alterables, and $1.99; each of these is 1-3 short aisles. Plus at least 5 'stations' with specific paper lines (like Bo Bunny, My Mind's Eye, Basic Grey, etc., usually new/seasonal).
We don't have any LSS any more. Well there's one on the south side but it's at least 45 minutes from me; I have Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Archiver's, and Cord Camera (which has a small scrapbook section but usually some current stuff, always Basic Grey w/a few others). Archiver's is definitely the largest here in Indy (and I think there are 2, there's also one on the south side).

We have 2 here in the Indy area and I rarely ever went there unless there was a good sale or I had a coupon to use. I didn't and still don't like how they arrange by color and split the lines up (paper and accessories in different places). Since the LSS that I used to frequent all the time has closed and the other ones' selection sometimes is not very good, I do tend to go to Archivers more often now. I have found that when I do go I always look for the items that I have in my wishlist/basket here to make sure that I like them and then I order from ACOT. Even with shipping I usually can get things a little cheaper.

I've been to one that is about 40 minutes from me several times. Nice store in a nice store complex. A bit expensive and I usually have seen everything they have for sale here at ACOT, but still fun to poke around.
