I remember doing this poll a couple of years ago. Since I'm going to be in a wedding on Saturday, I started thinking about wedding dresses again. So what color was your wedding dress? If you choose "Other", please share with us what the color was!

cool!! I wore white. I saw it on the cover of a bride's magazine and had to have it. When I was having pictures taken at the reception, I saw another bride in the exact same dress walking into her reception room at the hotel!!! I was ticked off at my FIL for pointing her out. I would have been happier not seeing her in the same dress. I couldn't afford the veil that was on the magazine cover and there she was with it on.

Mine was white, but it did have a touch of baby blue velvet ribbon at the waist.

I voted white, but mine was something they called 'candle light' since it was silk and wasnt bleached. But it wasnt really ivory either.

mine was ivory with champagne ribbon and flower.

The top was black and the bottom was ivory

My dress was ivory and red

My previous dress was white & navy...the dress I am wearing in 3 weeks is black

My wedding dress is definitely unlike any other wedding dress on the board. I voted other color. The original color is white. But age gave my dress a very different color. What color, well not beige and not sepia! Yes, very much an antique. I'll let you decide the color. It's posted in my gallery. Beneath the picture is what I wrote about the dress. Also understand I'm in flats while wearing it and I am just shy of 5'8" tall. My great-grandmother was 5'2" when she wore the dress. Read on below the layout and it is in my gallery here at ACOT! Of course one can't forget that handsome new husband of mine standing next to me!



My dress was 'my something old'! My great-grandmother's wedding dress worn in 1884 made the dress 102 years old when I wore it in 1986. Only one other in the family wore the dress before me and it was my mother in 1956. The dress is actually two pieces: a bodice and skirt. My great grandmother 5'4" was so much shorter then my 5'8" frame. Even with my Mom's beautiful work in adding two panels to the bodice so she could wear it, I just had to suck it up to get into the dress. I had to remember throughout the wedding and first hour of the rehearsal to breathe shallow. That's a real trick with nerves going everywhere. During pictures after the ceremony I laughed at one point and the hooks on the skirt gave way and there was Mom immediately for the repair. Fortunately, I didn't move and uttered the sound, "MOM my skirt." More stories about the dress. The original veil had been lost and my mother found one to match the color of the dress in a NYC shop window. After explaining for fifteen minutes she really wanted the off color one in the window and why the shop owner finally gave in still thinking she was nuts. The dress because of the late 1800 time period had a place for a bustle cage. I so wish we had the internet back then. We called every theatre we could find via telephone operators in NYC, Chicago and Houston. To no avail in finding a bustle cage to poof the back of the dress out. Still a thrill to wear a Victorian Era Dress!

Mine for my first wedding was a shade of Ivory with pale floral print lace sleeves. If I get married again I'm not sure what I'm wearing as long as it matches the "Tiffany" Blue and brown theme I want.

I'm a ginger... Red hair, freckles, fair skin, and blue eyes.... The white made me look like one big marshmellow so I went with Ivory. I'm thinking if I had to do it all over again I would get a dress like this...
Maybe me and the hubs will have vow renewal someday...

Mine was all ivory and Renesance style drapped sleeves. It was pretty, but If I ever do it all agian I will do speghetti straps.

For the first wedding it was a typical white dress. For the second, I wore a shirtwaist dress of beiges and peach and ivory. For the third, I wore a long burgandy skirt with an ivory lace blouse. There will NEVER be another wedding where I'm the bride - NEVER, EVER. No one else would ever even come close to my DH and if he croaks first, I'm staying single. (Personally, I think I'll croak long before he does.)

I wore my mom's dress that she wore in 1964. It fit me perfectly. The color was a shade less that pure white because of age and beautiful!

I had a white top with a small black ribbon on it, with a flowy black skirt. Still have the skirt, but the top is now too big so I got rid of it.
