Anyone else besides me make a big deal out of Valentine's Day? I have lights in the window, a Valentine's tree, etc. The menu for Valentine's day is always themed. I'm working on it now. Since I've been doing this for years, I'm running out of cute names for my food items. As lame as they are I've only been able to come up with "Valentine you sure are Peppy-roni Pizza" and "Heart Strings" for spaghetti.
Anyone want to offer up some other suggestions?
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
I'm having a Valentine party for Lauren and her friends. We will do crafts - I will take their pics and they will decorate frames to put it in, They will decorate cupcakes, paint their nails, watch a movie etc.
Not here - but we have birthdays on either side so it's hard to get enthused about it. Dh and I do have a date to go to the library's Wine & Dine fundraiser on Valentine's Day.
Emily's party usually includes valentine things - but this year we are doing a movie theme.
Kaitlyn gets a year off from a class party (thank goodness!) and is just having a few friends over. I had planned that they would make and decorate sugar cookies - but we'll have to do it after her birthday because of Ash Wednesday.
No food ideas for you - did you check family fun?

I'm baking cupcakes. I never do that, so it's special to me. I always leave a goody, and a homemade card for my dh, dd & ds in the morning when they wake up.
we have Chinese by candlelight as a family....started because someone was always sick and we could not go out..now it is a tradition.
Sorry I am not good at the name stuff...but i am sure the girls around here will be able to help you out

I can't think of any new names for you. I also put up some decorations, but only inside the house. I leave my wrapped present decoration on the wall from Christmas and cover it with large valentines that I make on the Cricut. I also leave a plain green wreath with lights up and decorate it with hearts. I don't put anything outside, though. Dh and I will have a candlelit dinner (take-out Italian dinner) at home, and we'll dress up for the occasion. We don't like to go out on V Day anymore because it's become much too commercialized and crowded.
Mary Love is all around you.
I have Valentine's lights up but no special plans. We have birthdays on either side of V day as well so it kinda gets lost in the other plans.

It's fun to make the crafts, so we've been doing a lot of that.
This year I found an allergen-free white cake mix, so we're going to make that and dye it pink with food coloring. No big plans for the hubs and I because we don't have a babysitter close to us. I think I'm getting him a small Shop-vac. I think that says "love" like nothing else!

Laura, here are a few......Love Ya Lasagna, Hubba Hubba hambugers, Steamy Stew, Hot For You Ham!

I saw this recipe today on San Antonio Living that I want to make for my husband to take to work, it's a chocalate salami. A guy just brought him two huge summer sausages from Wisconson so they won't expect chocolate. I'll make a small one for us too. I can't get the video link to post but if you go to this site and look down the center of the page under Watch Living the first video is the chocolate salami. There is also a french fondue video on the site for valentines day that looks really good. I have to get to planning what we will do. Here's the link http://www.woai.com/entertainment/default.aspx

Okay that is too cute, however I watched the video and cannot find the actual recipe. Maybe they have not put in on the website yet.

I was just going to type the same thing. This year we'll probably have a good Chinese meal with friends. Or maybe Dim sum.
I'm not big on V'Day anyway. The kids usually take something to school & have a potluck but that's about it. If I'm in the mood I might make cards for dh & the kids.
We aren't gonna do anything since we have Munchkin and he can be a pain. I will probably get bf and Munchkin chocolate and make them valentines. Since it coincides with the Chinese New Year, I think I will get some chinese take-out from our favorite restaraunt around the corner!

We are very boring around here. We don't decorate and we do the same meal every year. Steaks, popcorn shrimp, baked brie and sparkling cider. Although, it's pretty much one of our favorite meals, so it's definitely a treat to have it! We got dd a Pillow Pet for Valentine's Day this year, and I'm really excited to give it to her. She's been asking for one since before Christmas, but they were all sold out of the one she wanted (unicorn). Not sure what I'm doing for dh, yet. Depends on if I can talk him into giving me some money to spend on him or not!
