Do you say you are having supper? Or dinner?


I always though it was a regional thing. I was brought up in a farming community in central Wisconsin, and we said supper. (Well..if you COULD say that. My mom is not that great of a cook ) When I moved to Milwaukee to go to college, it became dinner. Almost everyone called it that (except those from central Wisconsin, lol). I always say dinner.



Now I am hearing more and more people saying supper around here.

Dinner is the middle of the day meal. Although I do sometimes call it lunch, too....mostly because of school lunch, I guess.

We eat dinner. And lunch is lunch. We don't say supper, although my Grandma always said supper for lunch and dinner for dinner, I think. Or maybe it was the other way around, I need to ask my mom.

Another regional questions though, do you say "wash" or "warsh"?

My grandparents are from Arkansas and it always comes out "warsh".

Yeah my grandparents said supper sometimes.. I say Dinner.. every once in awhile I say supper..but not really lol. I dunno.
