Know your interior design style
here's a fun quiz to determine your home decorating style - I think it probably applies to scrapbooking too
(in my case it definitely does)

http://www.sproost.com/

My style is
67% Contemporary
Contemporary
So fresh and so clean! Antiques? No thanks! Vintage collections and clutter of any type? Not for you! You like your space new and sleek. Each piece is chosen carefully as if it was a piece of art, and your love of minimalism is expressed throughout each room. Furniture has clean lines and geometric shapes are preferred. You're not afraid of color; in fact bold color options only highlight the minimal items you choose for your home. But, the key is clean! To master the minimalist interior you not only have to be selective in the few furniture items you bring into the space, but you must also find a way to hide all of the real life items as well.
33% Zen Style
Zen Style
Goodbye clutter, hello clean! However in Zen Style, unlike some other contemporary design, the consistent level of natural materials keep the spaces from feeling cold and sterile. Zen Style has a nice mix of rustic with chic so that there is an incredible level of ease and sophistication about the space. Plants and greenery are very important in helping achieve the warm and natural feel of the space. When at all possible, natural lighting is used in spaces to help create the openness in the space.

Re: Know your interior design style
Thanks for sharing, I just took the quiz and got 100% modern elegance. My husband and I are trying to redo a few rooms, I will forward it to him to take, maybe we can come up with something. I just took it again and it displayed different room designs and my result was 100% Hollywood Couture. Did anyone take it twice?

Mountain Lodge Style

You love nature! And really, how could you not? The more exposed wood (be it in log form or paneling) the better. And having natural stone in your home is a must! Especially at the fireplace, but stone top tables work too. If you could clad all the furniture in wood and stone you would, but splinters aren't fun and stone is cold! So when you need a place to sit (or recline in!), it should be comfortable and warm. Bigger is better when it comes to your favorite chair for watching TV or reading the newspaper. Leather is great (go natural!), but soft fabrics in warm tones also suit you well.

Materials

You prefer the simple things in life and you want natural materials over man-made whenever possible. The key feeling your space should invoke is warm and cozy. Whenever possible you let the furniture reflect the item it was built from - so come on, bring on the logs! But hey, where the full log isn't possible, at least expose the wood... the key here is to let it remain rustic when it should because nature isn't about being perfect, it's about being real! You enjoy patterns that highlight our natural surroundings such as plants, trees and animals. Because really - if you can't be outside, bring the outside in! Pieces should be large and sturdy, and encourage the whole family and all the friends to join in the fun.

Colors

When it comes to color you follow the same rules that apply to all other elements in the home: stay true to what is found in nature. You love earth tones, warm browns and reds that mimic trees and wooded forests, greens that reflect the leaves and grasses and dark blues that mirror the dark of sky and the deep blue of lakes and ponds. Colors that are dark and saturated are very appealing to you as they mimic the feelings of being in a heavily wooded area.

Space Planning

When it comes to arranging rooms, it's all about cozy! Combine a comfortable sofa with chairs that rock and/or recline and accessories that highlight the activities you love (fishing, hunting, hiking... you name it). You do not like ornate or frilly, and you avoid cluttering up spaces with items that are not necessary or do not remind you of the nature you love.

Wine Country Style

Tuscan sun, here we come! The Wine Country Style reflects the feelings evoked by the seaside regions of Europe such as the South of France, Spain, Italy and Greece. The style manages to be both refined and casual, such that you can mix beautiful antiques with more rustic wrought iron or wood and the result is both sophisticated and cozy. Furniture is large and comfortable, colors are bright and cheery, and regardless of the color palette the spaces almost always feel warm. You can easily translate the style into the perfect family environment but you can just as easily emphasize the more formal pieces and make your room the perfect adult getaway.

Materials

To those with a Wine Country sense of style, texture is very important because of how it imitates the surrounding landscape. Walls are often made of plaster or stucco, or faux finishes that emulate these textures. Rough-hewn or wrought iron is very common in tables, chairs, lamps and accessories. Natural pine is also common, although darker stained woods are more popular. The wood pieces (chairs, tables, armoires) are large in scale and each piece has a good sense of presence in the room. Mosaic tiles are very popular for flooring as well as accents on tabletops and other furniture.

Colors

When it comes to color, Wine Country Style literally attempts to mimic the landscape of the regions. Earthy tones such as yellow, orange and red highlight the golden hillsides and beautiful sunsets. Blues, lavenders and greens mimic the fields and countryside in springtime. Focusing on the blues and whites imitates the seaside and white sandy beaches

Re: Know your interior design style
Traditional Country, Country Classic, and Country Chic

Traditional Country

Even if your backyard isn't acres of farmland and you don't actually have a chicken coop, your house sure brings you back to a time when that was the case. You love spaces that feel casual and lived in. Furniture is practical and comfortable, and yet at the same time its very stylish. The best part of country style is how much it highlights collection and found objects. Antiques here, garage sale finds there and Aunt Milly's hand-me-downs throughout. Unique items that used to serve very practical purposes are now on display, and their history seems to permeate the home. Each space in the home seems to invite friends and family to come in and stay a while. There is a true sense of home felt throughout.

My home is American traditional, however I do love antiques, found objects , vintage, and garge sales!

Re: Know your interior design style
I took the quiz twice, got two completely different results, and didn't like any of them. Pretty much every single room I was neutral on -- not a lot of leanings toward like and dislike and no loves or hates.

I got different rooms the second time around too, which was interesting. Maybe I should take it a third time and see what comes out! :-D

I took it twice too. Paid more attention to everything in the rooms the second time. Results were 100% Contemporary, which is me. The first time it got me as 60% Contemporary and 40% Modern Elegance, which is wrong because there is no way I like to mix traditional with my contemporary. I don't do traditional. And whoever said that this is probably very similar to our scappy styles is right, because I don't do vintange and am not a fan of distressed or old fashioned at all.

I took it again and tried to use more loves and hates and a lot less "just ok". :-D

50% Modern Elegance
50% Classic

I read the blurbs and I think the results actually fit this time. (Before that, I had gotten "Southwestern", "Nantucket" and "Traditional Country" as the highest ranks -- none of those fit me at all!)

It does fit my scrapping style too -- which doesn't surprise me that I would make similar choices no matter what I was doing. :winkb:
