To mouse or not to mouse? That is the question.

This is my first time ever using a laptop and I think it's making me a little crazy. I'm mouse dependent and I can't get used to the little pad thingy. I may buy a wireless mouse. I don't know if this old dog can learn new tricks. I wanted to know what the other cherries use with a laptop. The pad thingy or a mouse?

When I'm at my desk at home - a mouse and it's not wireless - it still has its little tail tied to my laptop.

When I'm on the road - a mouse and it's not wireless - it still has its little tail tied to my laptop. (I pack it with my computer)

I don't know if I'll ever go 100% on my pad. I've done it in the past, but I like my outboard mouse!

I got my laptop and thought the same thing... no way can I use the pad. I went out and bought a wireless mouse. 3 years later it now stays safely packed away in my computer bag. The pad takes getting used to, but once you get used to it, you'll be fine. Good luck!

I tried to use a wireless mouse with the laptop, but you can't recline with a blanket, laptop and a mouse....

I've gotten better at the mouse pad thing.

I started out with the pad and got used to it pretty quickly. ...then i saw a purple wireless mouse and had to have it. lol well, it is easier playing games on the laptop with a mouse rather than the pad actually. But I've resorted to mostly using the mouse. But if I was without, I'd be okay with the pad.

I say force yourself to use the pad for a little while and then you'll feel less awkward with it after a while.

I've only used a laptop for about 6 years and when I moved two years ago. I had to open a local bank account. When I had to set up the online access there in the bank and I felt like a complete idiot. I couldn't figure the desktop out. The woman left the room and turned the keyboard and monitor towards me but didn't give me her mouse. I had to wait until she returned and tell her I felt stupid but I didn't know what to do. I tried to tab and use the pf keys but it didn't work for me. She laughed and handed me the mouse and said "I'm sorry I should have given you this." So use the touch pad for awhile and you'll completely forget how to use your mouse!

Mouse pad on my laptop. It does take a bit to get used to, but it's very easy for me now and i don't have an extra "thing" hanging around or for Ken to break!

it took me forever to master the pad thingy. And highlighting was a nightmare. Also - I couldn't move fast enough for arcade games. I finally gave in and bought a little mouse for it. So much easier

I haven't used my laptop in a long time but when I did I got a mini mouse to use with it. The trackpad used to make me crazy... I never liked using it.

My new iMac came with Apple's wireless Magic Mouse and it is awesome! It is so smart, it knows if I am using one finger for scrolling or two fingers for moving back a page or forward a page. Love it!

We have a mac laptop and the pad is great. But if we are going to be on it for a long time, the mouse is still nice to have.

I use pad and mouse and tablet. It depends on what I'm doing. Scrapping... tablet, gaming... mouse, web searching... mouse. I can do anything with the pad or a mouse. I figured I should learn incase I didn't have a mouse.
