I know today has special and personal meaning to every person....so did you do anything special today that you wish to share?

I will be going to my dd's football game tonight...it will be there first time marching( weather permitting) and they are doing a special presentation before the game. We also had a moment of silence in our house this morning for our relatives that were lost...and I have their pictures on the fridge today...I lost 2 cousins...and we will talk about with the girls...because though Kimmy was only 1 when it happened I want her to be able to know about that day!

Just keeping it pretty low key and doing a lot of reflecting.

We did not lose anyone close that day but dh was working about an hour from the Pentagon and I was pretty panicky until I heard from him. Then, they were the very first flight out when the airport opened back up the next week. That was a pretty hard 3 hours. It really makes me think about things. So, we will jsut spend the day thinking about our freedom and those who fight for it and have lost their lives for it.

We did a "where were you" discussion and that led to sharing of feelings. My youngest son is more angry than any other feeling. It's a day we can't forget.

To Cindy: My deepest sympathies on the loss of your 2 cousins.

Took the day to celebrate my 40th birthday. Ran some errands this morning, had lunch with BF and my mom, and hope to spend the rest of the day scrapbooking.

I'm just staying home because it's been raining for days and it is expected to rain for 3 more days. I will be thinking of those that lost their lives and the families that they left behind. I wll also be praying that this nerver happens again.

Definitely reflected on this day. How can anyone forget what happened. But all in all a low key day.

Low Key definitely watching the TV images.....still trying to come to the terms of the "why" we like Pearl Harbor were so blind. Hopefully after twice we won't be blind.

For today:

James had doctor's appointment
James has run out to get a caliper after one went bad after putting pads on his truck last night. Late dinner again.
Larry on the phone with me on and off for the one cow on the ranch that should not be sick but is......she has a $6000-$14000 three week old heifer at her side.

Maybe there won't be something else that keeps me from leaving for the ranch in the am.

I have seen a few recaps on tv, and mostly reminded me, (which I truly needed) how blessed I really am, and thankful. Also, how proud I am of my youngest son, who after that day was so "angry", he quit college and joined the military, which he is still in. God Bless anyone who has family in the military, or who may have lost someone that terrible day in our history,

reflected about how all of our lives changed 8 years ago today. Still haven't felt as safe as I used too. called a close friend who was a firefighter in NYC the day of the attacks. Remembered not being able to call into New York for 5 days. Tried to call a hundred times that day and could not get through, fell on the floor sobbing watching the footage, thinking that my dear friend was hurt or worse. Was so relieved when I finally got a hold of him but heart broken when I heard his stories. He is still a NYC fireman but is a different man since that horrific time. I salute all firemen, police and the military for all they do to protect us everyday. Thank you!!!!
