OMG! What am I going to do?
My son's birthday is a week away and I have no idea what we are doing. His 11th birthday, which because is on a Wednesday will not be celebrated with friends until Saturday, but truthfully, I don't know what to do. At first I was going to do a take his friends to the movies, but so many of the kids have already seen everything so then I thought maybe like a pizza party, but this age, especially boys don't like to sit around and chat like girl, even though there will be some girls invited. I don't know.

We are moving at the end of June, so maybe I can have a bunch of kids over for pizza, cake and watching a movie, I don[t know. Suggestions? I really don't want to spend a ton of money, but I'm just at a loss. I don't even know what to buy him. Agggghhhhhh!

Help Please!!

What about a skating party? They like that at this age, it is indoors with airconditioning, too. Or at a water-park.

Is there a nice park nearby? Go to the playground and do some games like water balloon toss, three legged race, etc.

Fishing...knee boarding .- well, we live close to the lake and can do that in the summer.

Pool party always goes over well.
ds had a party at a park BBO then we went to the batting cage.

We have a trail ( KATY) the boys went on the trail with their bikes. DH and anther father was with them. At the end we had sandwiches and cake with ice cream. ( soft ice cream) :?

if you have a backyard i say go for the Water Balloon fight. and have some pizza and drinks for them. I suggest having the water balloons filled in advance. That is what my 17 year old did for his birthday and my 11 year old requested it for his 12th birthday in September.

Scavenger hunt was the first thing that popped into my mind. Do you have rail trails (bike trails) nearby where they could rollerblade or ride bikes? Or a park where they could have a ball game? I do know boys need to be kept busy more so than girls.

Re: OMG! What am I going to do?
Ask your son what HE wants to do for his birthday. That's what I do with my 9 yo son. Works out great, no stressing. Try it and see if it works.

I like BeatrizS's idea. My sons and grandsons are always thrilled with water balloons - must be a gene thing!

Re: OMG! What am I going to do?
My two suggestions are this.....

When i was a kid, my mom would rent a hotel suite (one that had a pool out back of course) and have the birthday party their. We would swim all day, have cake, and cook out. Then we would stay in the hotel that night.

Other suggestion.....you know those big bouncy things you can rent for parties, well they have water ones....big gigantic water slides and such......

My son just turned 11 in April. It's an in-betweener. He loves to skate board, so kind of makes things harder. Here's a suggestion, rent one of the bouncies that allow water to go on them. For a backyard water slide and have ice cream and cake. Makes for a great day!
