I'm on the 3rd book and I haven't seen the movie yet!
If you've read the books what did you think of the movie. Should I finish all 4 books before I watch the movie?? Who else will be picking up the movie when it comes out on Sat.??
After reading the books, the movie disappointed me at first. That's standard for movie/book transition though and after seeing it a couple of times I can appreciate it for what it is. That said, I have hopes that a new director will bring a fresh take on the next movies. I don't think it was taken as seriously as the books were meant. It's not JUST about eye candy!!
Don't worry about seeing the movie before reading the 4th book. The movie is ONLY the first book and there's no spoilers. Hope you like Breaking Dawn, it's my fav!
I do plan to get the movie, but won't be banging down the doors at midnight or anything

I am getting the dvd for sure. I loved the books and the movie. The movies are never as good as the books so I went to it with that in mind. They could have done more but it was still a great movie.

I haven't read the books yet, but was surprised at how fast the movie seemed to come out on DVD.
I just got the first book from DD but haven't started it yet. I'm hoping I like it because I like books that come in series.

I would recommend watching the movie as soon as possible. I thought it was great. I have read all 4 books and loved them all. I'm re-reading them again! The movie varies a little from the book, but they're both great. I'm getting the movie Friday night at midnight!!!

my dd loved the movie, she preordered her copy of the movie. She has read the books a coupe of times each. So I think it would be fine ifyou saw the movie and then finished the 4th ook. that is from what dd say.
I have not read the book or seen the movie, but in general, I find that I like to see the movie first and then read the book. I made the msitake of reading Red Dragon and going to see the movie that same night. BIG mistake! Way too soon and movies lose out in the comparison.

I watched the movie then read the books. That way I couldn't be dissappointed.
I pre-ordered the movie and it's on it's way. I thought of just picking it up at the store but knew it would be hard to find the time.

I cant wait for tomorrow night...my hubby and I have a date tomorrow night we are going to catch a movie and dinner then im going to make him take me to buy the movie..hehehe (little does he know that is the real reason i picked tomorrow night instead of saturday to go out)hehehe.. I loved breaking dawn too! actually who am i kiddin gi loved all 4 books!
I absolutely loved all 4 books!! Going into seeing the movie I had extremely LOW expectations....knowing that usually the books are always better. I just thought of it as a fun opportunity to see it brought to life! Also I had seen pics of the characters playing each part prior to reading the books so I had been picturing them in my head all along! Well all of this definitely helped because I enjoyed the movie very much despite much criticism about it! I don't think that you need to finish reading all four before watching the movie.....however I definitely reccommend reading the first before it for sure!! Enjoy!! Let us know what you think about it!
I can't wait for spring break so I can start the books. haven't seen the movie yet.
I'll definitely be owning the movie, even though it wasn't nearly as good as the book. Some of the effects were bad (the speedy running especially), and I thought the cinematography was particularly awful. But the acting was good, and they kept as close to the book as they could.

I read all four books and than just last weekend saw it in our cheap seats movie theatre (I alreayd have it pre-bought and will pick it up tomorrow I'm guessing!) The book was definintely better, and they changed upa few things in the movie, but whenever something was similar I found myslef getting all giddy. haha. I thought the movie was alright, there were some parts they could have added and some parts they could have cut out, but overall, it was good. it's hard to fit a whole book into a 2 hour movie, so I understand they had to lose some stuff. Looking forward to the next movie which I think goes into production very soon!
IMO the movie wasn't a patch on the book. And the acting? Wow! Seriously, so needed to be better. They changed things up too. I liked some changes they made but honestly they left too much out of the interaction between Bella and Edward that now their relationship seems like a teenage crush instead of love of their life kwim? I REALLY hope they do better with New Moon.
Oh and Breaking Dawn is really good.
Has anyone read the except of Midnight Sun on Stephanie Meyers site? Seriously THAT should have been Twilight! Much better IMO.
