 I am super excited and super nervous!!!!!!!!! I have been asked to be the photographer at a friend's wedding in October! It will be my first wedding. Also, another friend who just did her first wedding a couple of weeks ago and is a fantastic photographer has offered to let me be a second shooter at a wedding she maybe doing in August so I can I practice.

I have been considering finally buying a dslr and have been eyeballing refurbished cameras. I now have a great reason to buy one!!!!!!!!!!!

 Wow!! What an honor and a nice compliment to your talent~~ sounds like you are on the road to a successful new adventure. 

 That is awesome!  I would definitely do the practice shoot, because weddings are really nerve wracking!

 I just bought my DSLR last week SUPER GREAT DEAL on Amazon.com. The Canon Rebel Xsi is usually 799.00, Best Buy had it on  sale for 749.00 plus tax, but Amazon has it for 679.00 no tax or shipping!! The refurbished Xti's were only $100-$150 less... So not worth it. So keep searching, you'll find a great deal and it's definitely a must if you're going to go pro. Good luck!!

Though I want something better than an XTi I really can't afford it. 

 I did the same thing this past September!!!! I was sooo nervous! They had another guy also more professioal than myself, but it was really fun and a great learning experience!! And I got paid! Have fun

 I've seen some of your photos and you have nothing to be nervous about.  You do great work.

Actually, from what I've been reading and heard from other photographers sometimes a refurbished one is better than a brand new one.  Mainly because it's been used before and you know it works.
