from what ZI understand they are just big message boards where you can chat, play games, view pics and keep in touch with friends. When created, mySpace was geared toward kids and Facebook meant more toward adults. You don't have to join either of them, it just seems that a lot of us have joined Facebook here. Apparently people also have been able to keep/get in touch with old high school friends through these methods too. Its totally your choice on whether you want to put yourself out there
