Ok girls, I have to vent. What happened to the nice helpful people in the world. It has been freezing rain all afternoon so I'll pulling in my driveway and I get stuck in all the ice -- half in the drive and half in the street. The street is a sheet of ice too, barely got down it. So here I am out in the freezing rain trying to get unstuck. I'm putting down tons of salt (I think I put 75 lbs down) and still stuck. The fairly new neighbor guy comes home with some other dude and not even an offer to help. The other neighbors that have a teenage son and big dad, nothing. People are driving by and just staring like gee, I wonder what's up with that crazy lady. I'm just frustrated. It is not always easy being a single mom, you would think someone would at least offer a little help. Oh well. My story has a good ending, my dad came to my rescue and helped me. If it weren't for him and my mom (who we almost lost to a sudden heart attack in March) I don't know what we would do.
Thanks for letting me vent, I am feeling better now. I just have seem to have lost the Christmas spirit this year.
Some people just don't care. I'm sorry to had to deal with it but glad your dad came to your rescue.

Molly, I so know your pain and bewilderment! There are still good people out there but sometimes you have to wonder where they all are!
A few years ago, in the snow, I tripped and fell outside of a grocery store. I mean flat on my face ...hard. Dozens of people walked by and not one person came to my aid. I laid there kind of in shock that this wasn't really happening...but it did. Some people even had the nerve to step over my body!!! Not a single person even lent me a hand to help me up or ask If I was okay. I was so depressed after that, I could hardly look at people for months. What has happened to us???????? I would never walk away from someone like that. NEVER!
I hope all those people that just watched you in need and turned away...Have that happen to them!
Hugs...and wish I was there to help you today.

Hope you have a great Christmas!!

So sorry for that. They are still good people in the world. You never know, those that didn't help you might need your help on day. I know you will go their rescue, but if that happens make sure that you remind them, that you are not like them. ((((HUGS))))

Yikes!! Sorry that happened to you. Doesn't sound fun at all! I'm glad you're okay though!
Don't give up hope! There are still nice people out there.....
The other day when I was sad and got my hair cut I had called to see if the lady I like was there. She wasn't busy so I ran right over. I live literally 2 minutes away. I walked in right behind someone else and sure enough she asked for the same stylist. I said "oh, you're kidding me" and it came out and I meant to say it in my head.
So I laughed and sat down and all of a sudden they stylist called me and I said "but she was here 1st" and the stylist told me that the other customer said I could go first and she would wait.
I thanked her a million times. It was perfect timing because I was just having a pisser of a day......
There are a few people still around.
Glad your family was there to help

Please don't dispair - there are helpful people out there! Very glad to hear that you have your parents as a support system! I don't know what I would do without mine!
I agree with you. There still are very kind hearted and helpful people out there. It''s just that some people don't react the same way and/or don't think 'hey, maybe i cud be of help.' Too much else going on in their minds --- everyone is so very busy. Rush rush rush. It's unfortunate. Sorry that you had the difficulties today but glad that your dad came to help.bluetulip wrote: Please don't dispair - there are helpful people out there! Take care.

That is why I try to be nice to people, so maybe they will be nice to someone else and so on.

That's just not right. If I had been there, I would have tried to help you. I may not have been of much use, but still would have tried.

You guys are the best. I am feeling better now, just got frustrated earlier. We were raised to always help others, my dad is still the first one there to help someone in need, so I forget that not everyone was raised that way. I hope I raise my boys to help others.

This is me...I could be extra strong and do exactly what you tell me to do, LOLGypsymonkey wrote: That's just not right. If I had been there, I would have tried to help you. I may not have been of much use, but still would have tried.
I'm sorry you had such a bad day Molly...there are good and helpful people out there...they may not be in your neighborhood, but they're out there.
I think it is pretty sad when a human being sees another human being in need and does nothing. I'm one of those people who can't ignore someone in need. Im sorry you had to experience that, what a horrible feeling. At least there are those people you know you can count one. (((HUGS)))
