I have to agree with the "wow"... those parents must be very desperate to do something like that

That breaks my heart. Can you imagine the impact that is going to have on the child's life. My Mom/Dad dropped me off to get rid of me/get me a better life/ etc. Whatever line they were fed, is going to translate into "I wasn't wanted."
How totally and completely sad!!!!

It is sad but being dropped off at a hospital is better then the child/teen being homeless, beaten or killed. I wish such a law existed like that here.

Wow...okay. I just read what was actually posted in the link. It is very, very sad. I just can't even imagine.
And after reading the below post...wow. 3 days and younger. that's amazing.

Sadly we've been making the national news for some time on this one. They are changing it soon to only be infants 3 days or younger. But, my concern is for all those teens that need help and can't get it. Obviously in most of these cases, the parents have been struggling for a long time trying to get help and not getting it due to insurance issues, cost and availability.

You've been making the news for quite a while actualy.
I feel very very sorry for the kids - regardless of their age. And I feel sorry for our country that we have become a place where there is no other place to turn for help, to seek solace and that people feel so alone that they feel this is what they have to do - regardless of what their reasons are for doing it - drugs, financial problems, abuse issues or just emotional problems.
Where are our churches, extended families, neighbors... is there no one who cares any more?
