 I dropped my dh off at the airport this morning.  He is heading to CA on TDY for 4 months. its not that long, we've dealt with longer separations but I'm getting soft and really feel heartsick today. I just about lost it at the airport, he chuckled and warned me not to bawl and swerve all over the road on the way home. LOL  He certainly doesn't have it rough, staying in Monterey and being able to spend holidays with MY family. Not fair I tell you! :P  dd is quick to look at the bright side... now she gets to sit in the front seat of the car. I can get away with serving cereal for dinner too.  Heck, I got a new camera out of the deal, I couldn't let him take our only camera with him so I told him he'd just have to buy me a new one. LOL that worked out nicely. But he did take my laptop... I feel so naked without it. Haven't used the desktop pc in forever. so I am trying to keep spirits up, keeping my mind busy. just needed to say it all out loud and get a little extra support from my friends. thanks girls, for listening.

Oh man..((hugs))!!  I am pathetic about spending just a few days apart so I have no idea how you ladies who spend months apart do it.  The camera is a nice distraction though! 

 Oh that is sad, I know what it's like my dad used to have to go TDY too when we lived over seas. It's hard getting used to it each time he left. Just hang here with us more, I'm sure we can help bring a smile to your face.

 ((((((hugs))))))  I hate when my dh leaves for 4 days...  I couldn't even imagine 4 months!   You'll be so busy though that I know the time will fly by and you will actually have to cook dinner again! 

 LOL Pam!   my dh has warned the girls to call him immediately IF I do not spend more than 5 minutes AWAY from the pc each day. And that I have to cook one meal per week. pahahahahahaha  oatmeal is cooking right?  your dh can only come over if he'll mow the lawn and take out the trash, I hate doing those.

Although, a new camera is a pretty good deal...hehe

 {{{{{hugs}}}}}} I cant imagine- me and dh have not been apart for more than 3 dyas in 17 years. I tell you though that it think a little ltime apart is good for you. Gives you sometime to chill and just be yourself and do what you want.... and hey, maybe now we will see a little more of you and you can get some more scrappy stuff good.

Hopefully the time will fly.  I'm sure once your girls start back to school, you'll be so busy that you won't have much time to think about him being gone.  {{{hugs}}}  Hope you got a NICE camera!

Where's your DH going in CA? What base?

 ((HUGS))  I know it's hard...we've done a month here and a month there...but never 4.  Just be glad he's able to be with family..and not being sent much further away!

 Agreed, it could have been Korea for a year. CA is not bad at all.

The camera was at least 4 years old and they've made such huge improvements since then. Got a Sony Cybershot, the same brand I had before only this one is way better. I'm just a point and shoot kinda girl. 

Dh will be in Monterey at the Language school. It is the first place we lived after getting married so he is familiar with the area and it's not far from my family, whom he loves spending time with. (no sarcasm there)

LOL and the crop was one of my first thoughts. hahaha no curfew for me, no one demanding attention cause I can distract the girls with plenty of other things. hahahaha

 Hugs sweetie! I get heartsick when my dh is gone for much shorter than that!
Any chance you can fly into Monterey one weekend to spend with him? I loved it there!
