Remember my issues with the lady keeping Mary?
Well it all came to a head yesterday morning. And with a bang.
Sarah my 6yr old had a field trip yesterday and I had to make her a sack lunch so of course Mary wanted one too. I made it and the whole time telling her that the lady wouldn't like it. Well.....I took Mary to her house and she saw that sack and started in. "What is that?" (Insert snarky attitude) I tried to tell her why and she wigged out!

She said "I wish you wouldn't have done that" (snarky) I told her " understand but"and she kept interrupting me "We talked about this". Again I tried to talk to her and she started getting nasty to me so I asked her to not talk to me like that and she started screaming at me. I then told her that she was my PAID Childcare Provider and not my mother and she screamed at me "If you don't like how I provide care for your children then take them somewhere else" So I looked at her and said "Fine we're done" and I took Mary and walked out.

I never said anything about not liking how she provided care all I asked her to do is stop talking to me with disrespect.
I'm glad to be rid of her now but of course it's hard finding a place for daycare on such short notice. DH & I have to interview at the place where he goes to school so I'm setting that up so I can get her in next week I hope.

If you made it this far thatnks for reading my rant. :)

That behavior is totally unacceptable. I'm glad you left, I would have too. Imagine how she must treat the children if she talks to an ADULT that way!!

Good luck finding a daycare!!
On a molecular level, I'm very busy.

Oh yeah I forgot that part! all the kids were standing there gaping between us! Their ages were 4 and under.
My girls are so happy that they don't have to go back there. They told me yesterday that she was the meanest babysitter ever and that she screamed at them too.
I feel a huge weight lifting off me.

Wow, I am sorry she was so nasty to you, but there were red flags all over that ladies place. I am glad that Mary will be moved to a better child care situation.  HUgs to you and I know that is stressful finding a new place.  That lady is crazy!!!!

Re: Remember my issues with the lady keeping Mary?
I'm so glad that you are done with her. I know it's hard trying to find a replacement so quickly, but it will all work out. I just started watching two little boys for a very similar reason. There was also a confrontation when the Mom told the sitter that she would be taking the boys somewhere else. Their old sitter was forcing the 2 1/2 yr old to go potty so much that he was holding it all day, which was just not good for him. They have been here two and a half weeks and Joe hasn't had one accident and I even asked his mom if she wanted to try doing big boy undies the second week because I was willing to work with him, and he was so excited to be a big boy and has been doing great.

And for the record, if any parents want to bring food for their kids that I watch, I'm all for it. It doesnt' take that much more time to prepare something else. And if it's already prepared, and all I have to do is set it out on a plate, that's even better! Some people just enjoy being difficult, and it sounds like she has a control issue.

Good Luck in your search!

Oh no she would have had a piece of my mind even though that isn't the thing to do. I'm glad you got the kids away from her to. What an ugly person

If she is licensed you should report her.   That is uncalled for and the thought of my kids being screamed at (unless by me ;)) would just about make me call the CPS or police.

Wow... you were right to get out of there.... That is acceptable at all. Does she blow up at the kids, too? Good for you :) You'll find another provider and it will be better!

Uh...yeah... it's probably best that you got your daughter out of there when you did!  That lady seems kind of unstable!  But good luck finding someone new.  I'm sure that can't be easy. :) :)

Re: Remember my issues with the lady keeping Mary?
Did she have a policy of not bringing in food or something?  If not, then what is her problem (I could have, but I don't remember any previous posts about this) I know that DS' daycare had a policy.  Here in Texas there are laws as to when a babysitter needs to be licensed.  Check with your state.  If she's licensed, report her.  If she's not ANDshe's beyond the legal limit, then report her!!  Glad your child is out of there!

Re: Remember my issues with the lady keeping Mary?
I agree.  Report her to the authorities.  She sounds like somebody who could have a mental breakdown and take it out on the kids.  (Of course, I do drive by the house where Andrea Yates drowned her 5 kids in the bathtub on a regular basis, so I could be over reacting!)

And good luck with your daycare search.
