Wed Reception baskets

So I got this idea off a wedding website to make up some "necessity" baskets for the women's and men's room for the reception this coming Saturday I'm planning. My friend got married on 4/5 and I'm her wedding planner here in my area. Anyway, as a little surprise I made these baskets to put in the bathrooms at the reception hall.

I found this cute poem online and printed it on transparency paper and put it on purple cardstock and put 4 silver heart brads in each corner.

Women's basket has the following items: bobby pins, panty liners, tampons, sewing kit, dental floss, clear nail polish (for runs in nylons), shout wipes, spearmint scope, peppermint scope, gum, Hello Kitty band-aids, lint roller, hair spray, hand sanitizer, nail files, super glue, contact lens solution, aleve, antacids, hand lotion, deodoant and breath mints.

Men's basket has the following items: Dental floss, shout wipes, spearmint scope, peppermint scope, gum, Sponge Bob band-aids, lint roller, hair spray, hand sanitizer, super glue, contact lens solution, aleve, antacids, hand lotion, deodoant, combs and breath mints.

I also made the wedding favors. These are boxes I made with my Tags, Bags & More Cricut cartridge. I filled them up with Raspberry/Chocolate M&M's and tied them with purple ribbon & a little Thank You charm.

Also found this cute bird cage @ WalMart for the cards. I'm going to add a nice real flower on top and then I'm done. I only added the purple & ivory ribbon with a bow on the front.

I just wanted to share what I've been up to. For those of you who don't know me well, I'm an Event Planner and this is my first wedding I've done. I'm nervous and am such a perfectionist that I hope it all goes just as planned on Saturday. Luckily my "BRIDE" isn't terribly picky and she's pretty laid back. Anyway, just thought I'd share.Image

hey I just saw that birdcage at walmart yesterday and thought it was too cute!
great ideas for the baskets..... though I would suggest adding a small bottle of undo to the mens.... I bet you at least one man will break out the super glue for no reason! hahahahahahaha

Are children going to be at this wedding?? If so, I'd definitely lose the super glue (in both baskets).

The baskets are a cute idea - however if there are kids, I'd be nervous with the medicine and others items being in their reach.

Love the birdcage!

Thanks ladies. I couldn’t have gotten the idea if it hadn’t been for the good ole’ INTERNET. Thanks for the suggestion Mama, – I’ll add the undo for the men’s basket. LOSING the super glue as suggested also. I'm thinking your rightImageLOLImage …the Bride said that all the kids are under 5 but you can NEVER underestimate the determination of 5 year olds when it comes to something that catches their beatie little eyes. Image I plan on putting the baskets up where they can’t be reached by tiny fingers.

Yup, I’m an event planner. Just starting out. Judy (BTB) is my first client. Non-paying b/c she’s a friend and I wanted to do this as her wedding gift. I have a website (bought & paid for) but haven’t hardly done anything with it. It’s just a website for now. Working on making it look pretty. LOL. It’s www.occasionsbylaura.com and hopefully I’ll have it all looking prettier soon.

Thanks to all for your wonderful words. I’m excited the closer it gets.

I also have my 2nd client but the event isn't until 2/7/09, a 25th Wedding Anniversary. My current Bride's parents anniversary.
