Welll..... that went better than expected! Tip: Be one of the first to sign in even if it means being 40 minutes early.  They take the court hearings in order of check-in.  Alex was 2nd.  I made him sit up in the "hot seat" by himself although supporters were allowed at the same table.  I remained in the audience.  The judge was female and you could tell... "she don't play".  Asked him several different questions and I was surprised that she didn't have to remind him once about calling her "your honor" or "ma'am".  He may be truant but he's not impolite!  He admitted to the charges and she told him, "I hereby order you to school.  If you violate this court order, you will return and I will impose punishment in the terms of ....... blah, blah, blah.." Essentially he could be detained in the detention center for up to 7 days, could have an ankle bracelet attached or be fined.  I already KNOW what's going to happen should he decide he'd like to skip a class or day of school... Mama don't play either! Thanks for the encouraging words gals! Was gonna ask for luck but I'm thinking patience or strength would suffice more!Getting ready to take the truant son to court at 1pm.  He was on probation for missing NUMEROUS days last year and since he skipped a WHOLE day in Sep (when he decided to run away... ) he broke probation and now has to face the initial charge of truancy.  And to think... his probation would have been over next month! *sigh* Anyone want a slightly obnoxious, rebellious and defiant 15 year old? Comes free of charge and I'll pay for shipping!

LOL!Amy ~ If I accepted your teenage sister and decided I didn't like the way they act, can I send my 3 y/o DD back with her to spare myself the aggravation??

Amy ~ If I accepted your teenage sister and decided I didn't like the way they act, can I send my 3 y/o DD back with her to spare myself the aggravation??Well sure   My mom would love it and my DD would too.  I'm glad the hearing went better than you'd expected.(And I'm Katie BTW.  I hope I haven't been ignoring things directed at me if people thought my name was Amy. Oops.)
