Is it in the fridge yet?I couldn't remember how long the turkey was supposed to thaw so I looked it up on the Butterball website where they've got tons of helpful tips for planning, preparing and even recipes. They've even got a Turkey Savvy Quiz, see how much you know about preparing your turkey.

Here's my "turkey!" Thanks...I am going to go check it out. We're actually going out for dinner on Thurs. but I am making aThanksgiving Dinner on Sunday.

I thaw mine out in cold water the day before, then brine it overnight in the garage. Cook it till the thingie pops out. I've yet to die.. LOL I took the test, only got #6 right. But, it says.... Congratulations You've completed the Turkey Savvy Quiz. Now you should be prepared to roast the perfect turkey!

Um, mine is still at the grocery store. I get a really small one for just the 4 of us, so I'm not panicked - YET!

I buy a fresh turkey, picked it up from the farm on Sunday. it is 28 1/2 pounds....

Thanks for the links, Kristi!!! I was planning on getting ours in the morning but now I see that it won't be thawed in time so you just saved me a ton of stress. I guess I will have to use the cold water method some.

My little bird (only 12 lbs for the 4 of us) is defrosting in the fridge.
We took it out of the freezer on Sunday before we went grocery shopping. The store had Green Giant frozen veggies on sale and we needed the space to stock up on those.
