I am perusing ornament sites looking for the perfect horse ornament for my dd and I have seen some beautiful ornaments.  What is your favorite that you have...and why?

That is impossible for me to answer.  I so many beautiful ones.  In general, I best like the ones that are the old world, handblown, glass ornaments.  Put some glitter on them, too, and they are even better!  I also like birds and nests.

 I have lots of favorites but this one stands out  because the Wicked Witch actually "melts" into the ornament screaming (in the original voice of course) I'm melting, melting...etc. and the  the Winkie Soldier says "Hail to Dorothy, The Wicked Witch is dead"

Mine is my grandma's old blue glass pinecone that was her mother's.

I don't have one.  I wish I did. 

There are so many on our tree that hold such memories... none are just bought for pretty.. they are bought for meaning. The one that makes me tear up the most when I hang it up.. is one of a yellow lab small bobble head and lays down with a santa hat. The last picture I had of my Phoebe.. was her in a Santa hat... so this ornament brings back SO many memories. Many of my favorite ones are of course animal ones. And the funny ones that I made when I was in grade school and my mom still hangs up crack me up every time.Just reach in your heart and find what means so much to your family. You'll know it when you see it!

My favorite ornament is a hallmark keepsake from 1988 called Slipper Spaniel. That was the year we got our cocker spaniel who was red and white just like the ornament.

Well, I have so many.. I particularly like the wooden Santa in his one piece striped long johns with the trap door..he's sweet!But..since my dad passed away, my mom gets us ornaments from her church in honor of those who passed away.  Well, I will treasure those forever, and cry every year when I put them on the tree.  They are angels 

From the time I was young, we always had an ornament exchange with my mom's side of the family. My aunt is an artist, and one year she made me a ceramic pitcher with little forget-me-not's painted on...that was my favorite  for the longest time. After my grandma died, my mom gave me the last ornament I had given to her...a funky chef's apron with the pockets full of cooking supplies that says Kiss the Cook. That one has become very special to me too.

my favorites are from my childhood which my parents gave to me... They are two little stockings... Real one's with hooks for the tree... Sooooo cute! 

I have a few:One I made when I was 7 or so, called a "bubby", I made them like crazy out of yarn. When I get the ornaments out, I will post a picture of bubby.  He has a top hat and a pipe made from wire and a bead.  He's cool and still in amazingly good shape! He has graced my moms tree since I was 7 and a few years ago, she gave him to me for my own tree.Another one, my dad gave me. He calls me "Mouse", so I used to get all kinds of mouse themed things before he passed away. One of my favs is a mouse holding a phone and the phone is WAY too big for said mouse.    Another of my fav mouse ones is a little lady mouse sniffing a poinsietta! So cute! 

i actually took photos of some fave ornaments two years ago.  This is my baby ball, each of my sisters and I have one for the year we were born. I don't see many baby's first year like this anymore.  Along the side are some handmade ornaments that I organized my sisters to make for mom one year.  We used school photos, some felt frames and colored pom poms from mom's craft leftovers. gosh I can't tell you how old I was when we did this, maybe it was around 1990? because my youngest sister doesn't have one. lol

For my bridal shower, everyone brought an ornament for DH and I's Christmas tree.  My MOH/BFF wrote down exactly which ornament belonged to each person.  At the time, I thought she was being silly and anal, but boy was I glad she did that when I put my ornaments on last year.  We were able to walk around the tree and see who gave what ornament.  That was pretty cool.  Those all have a special place in my heart.

My favorite got broken when our tree fell over one year.It was hand painted in Frankenmuth Michigan on hand blown glass.  It was a farm scene with an old red barn and a John Deere tractor in it - trees and more I think.Otherwise - I really like lots of mine.Jenna

might sound silly but I made this string with red and green squares of construcion paper with straws.in kindergarten. For some reason it just brings back happy memories. My parents still laugh that I put it on the tree

I have all glass ornaments on my tree, except for one.  It is probably fifteen years old.  It is a standing beagle but over the years the tail and one leg broke off.  I still hang it up because it reminds me of my old dog Spuds.

WOW! This is a hard one. All of my ornaments have special memories that go with them. I think that is one of the reasons it takes me so long to get it put up. I have to stop and remember as each one goes onto the tree. If I had to pick just one it might be the satin ball with Teenage Mutent Ninja Turtles on it. Robbie got it as a gift his last Christmas so it is very special.

I'll have to scan the one I made when A was about 4 or 5.  Using his handprint (green and red construction paper), added a ton of different pictures from that year around it.  Sprinkled with glitter and placed a bow with a teddy bear on the top and hung it from the tree.

Most of my favorites are ones from when I was little - they're still at my dad's place.  Makes you look back on all of those moments from your childhood & decorating the tree each year as a family.

This is hard, because I am a sucker for any Christmas store no matter what time of the year it is!!  My favorite colors for ornaments would be gold and white.  I have some very special ones my Mom has made for our tree and I also have a couple of really cute Nativity scene ones.  I also like the baby ones from when the boys were little. I have started a box for each one of them for when they grow up and move away, they can take their ornaments with them.
