I love working with mosaic tiles. I also used to sew and knit, but there's not much room here - setting up the sewing machine would be impossible unless I rearranged the entire house!
Thanks for all the questions and congrats you've sent - I sure appreciate them all! Tomorrow is doc and dentist day, so I won't be home until evening; if I don't answer your question until tomorrow night, that's why.

Oh, yeah - I give my doctors sooo many headaches over my allergies; there are very few antibiotics I can take without severe reactions. I'm also allergic to housework and office work!

I like spring and fall because there are no bugs out and I like fall for the beautiful colors here...but summer is my favorite.

Holidays aren't the same when the kids are grown and gone...Christmas is still my favorite, though. We usually don't have a lot of snow yet, so I'm not screaming for it to all be gone , and I love looking at houses that are decorated.

That's my favorite time of the day, too; I watch the sun set across the lake and the reflection in the water along with the sunset is breathtaking. When I was able to work, I loved going in to the office through Marquette. There's an area as you leave Marquette where you go up a steep hill and at the top, see the road curving right next to Lake Superior. It would still be dark out, so I'd see a chain of white light snaking along the lake, and it was gorgeous.

I don't think there was any time better than the other. I enjoyed all the "firsts" and watching the different levels of independence so much that I don't think any time was better.

OMGosh, did they ever! My eldest went through more craziness, though. He wore sweatpants to school through 5th grade...wouldn't put on jeans or slacks. Then, in Middle and High schools, he wore shorts. All the time, shorts! We had 2 winters in a row where we broke snow totals and one for coldest on record, and he still wore shorts. Then he and his friends started with Dungeons and Dragons and he talked about the games incessantly. Actually, they still play now and then and he has, literally, a fortune in books, playing pieces, cards and notebooks!
When they were little and mad at me, they'd say, "I HATE YOU!!!" and I'd look at them, smile and say, "That's ok, because I always love you!" That would make them even more mad at me and they'd stomp off!

Mine were the opposite. My oldest didn't even sleep through the night until he was 3. He had temper tantrums and would lay under the buggy his brother slept in on the main floor during the daytime and would scream and kick - and my youngest slept through it. He always wanted answers to questions and when he got them, wouldn't believe it - made my Dad sooo furious! Both of them tried tantrums in stores - I'd let them lay there on the floor, screaming and go about my shopping; pretty soon they'd be right next to me screaming again. (I'd never do this in a city - we always lived in small towns where you were able to walk away and not worry about someone snatching them.) Even now, my youngest is far calmer than his brother.

I never, ever wanted a daughter; I'd rather have 10 boys than 1 girl!! I have no patience and a voice that gets shrill when I'm angry, even if I try to keep it normal. If I had a daughter, when she got to about 10 until she was about 21, we'd have been at each others' throats, IMO. I had horrible mood swings (I think they call it PMDD now) and if there had been 2 of us in the house, it would not have been good. It's not that I don't like little girls...it's that they would have deserved a much better mother than I could have been to them.

We have a rescue cat that we got when she was a kitten. Her name is Idgy. We have a rescue dog we got as a pup. His name is Boo. (Me & You & A Dog Named Boo from the 70's was the way that came about.) Idgy's white with grey and is a real pistol. We can't let her outside because of wild animals and birds here, so she has decided her main goal in life is to terrorize the dog. She's 7 pounds. Boo is mainly black, with some white and now some brown in his coat. He's part Lab, part German Shepherd and half Golden Retriever. He weighs 90 pounds...and yes, he's afraid of Idgy!! The only time he stands up for himself is if she tries to take his Milk Bone or table scraps from him. DH didn't want either pet...yet he picked Idgy out from the other kittens and she curls up next to him at night. Boo thinks he and DH are brothers and goes everywhere DH will let him. He sits in DH's lap in the recliner, almost tipping the two of them over. I don't know what he'd do if he didn't have Boo to go for walks with him. The bottom line is that DH is a big softie and loves animals, though he seldom admits it!

I missed this yesterday! Congrats!
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
